That was what I was told, I wouldn't think they would let a vehicle sit a couple weeks. Maybe it's a chip need on a certain package like the luxury package or CP 360. That would maybe make more sense. Maybe I'll have to investigate more.
Tim...thank you for all of your information. I am an August order from a smaller dealership comparing to others in my area. So obviously, allocations are in play because there was one order before mine that had a 2 and mine is 10. They couldn't change mine to 2 but will check back after the 2ers gets put into the schedule. Anyway...

In response to some of DryHeat's questions and some of his valid "this doesn't make sense" comments, what is the likelihood of those above Brand Manager such as production manager or plant manager, giving conflicting information?

Ordered a couple weeks after you at the end of October. Getting real nervous, damn.
I had ordered on June 18th but in October there were posts about dealers not imputing the orders in correctly. I just happen to call into my dealer to speak with a sales manager and found out that the order was not placed properly. After telling my dealer about ROVP and the lead to Maverick program. About a few days later ford finally confirmed my order on October 12th.

Really sucks because none of this was my fault and completely out of my control. They should do the same thing that ford is doing for Mach e and lightning where it’s all online and don’t even have to go to a dealership. They messed things up and now my order went in much later than it was originally. Any other October orders out there? Do you think we will be pushed to 2023?

Great update Tim.

Thought you would want to know:
my June 25th Hybrid Lariat Lux that was originally scheduled for week of Feb 28 got moved 2 weeks ago to April 4th. I took off the roll-up bed cover last week and yesterday I got an email from Ford moving my order back to Feb 28th!!

Thanks for the advice!

I’m an October 23rd order who didn’t get my confirmation from Ford until November 5th only after calling the dealer to make sure my order is in. I don’t know if I’ll get a ‘22 or a ‘23. I’ll see where I am in 3 months.

I don't know if that's it.

As I show in this post, a truck built 1/11 (XLT, CP360) is sitting until May while another truck built 1/25 (Lariat, Lux, CP360) was finished and delivered... at same dealership. The XLT has nothing that the Lariat doesn't have ... quite the opposite.

(I have the VINs, vehicle histories, and window stickers for both and I talked to the salesman who sold them.)

Something else must be happening. It would help if we knew what it was.
All I could think of is price / profit. It's the way our society is driven.

I'm betting the chips are needed for the heated seats, mirrors, windshield wiper and steering wheel. As we live in Vermont, we have decided that's worth waiting for.

UPDATE: Nope. It's something more basic than that, because it's one chip needed by ALL trims. I guess we'd better wait for something that necessary, eh?
CarPlay?

Correct. People hear Texas and assume we don’t get cold at night/morning.

And yes, I understand I am using the term “cold” loosely. I am from Nebraska so that’s much colder. I know.

Hey I live in Austin and my spouse got heated seats in our Sequoia. I was the only one to use them to light up whoever was in the passenger seat without them knowing it until it was too late.....and usually in the summer. I guess our blood flow was enough to keep our bottoms warm, even in the winter.

Price/profit!!! Try and buy a car in Europe. Don't be so quick to knock a capitalistic economy until you have experienced a socialist one.

That being said there are other issue that are delaying shipping.

That's one of the scenarios that I am trying to run by @fordvideoguy, but I don't think he's really in a position to know whether that's what's happening.

I don't know if the fix can be done in the parking lot or not. I don't know what chip is missing and whether or not it's something that can just be popped into the truck. Maybe it can be done in the open, maybe it can be done in a drive through shelter, maybe something else.

I doubt that they will actually put them back on the production line unless they absolutely have to. Seems like that would be pretty disruptive and time consuming.
I kind of THINK, with no knowledge that it is not just in comes a chip, pop it in and go. A lot depends on what the chip is, as it could be anything. I think it is more a board, or module. which is short the chip. To just pop a chip in would take a socket mounted on the board to accept it. I have to think they have cut costs everywhere they could which would include have the chip soldered on the board which safes the cost and space of the socket.

We have had 0 hybrid orders from late August, September, October, November scheduled so far.
I ordered mine on 8/20 and was told by dealer that I should have it by end of year. Now I am thinking June maybe. Lariat Luxury Edition, First Edition, Rapid Red Hybrid, Pilot 360.

You took that way wrong, but that's okay. I wasn't knocking our capitalistic economy, just stating a fact. I saw other service members buy cars in Europe when I was stationed there. It wasn't that hard, but that was in the 70's.

Narts. I went in and ordered right before the cutoff date in November, thinking I did a good thing. XLT lux package with a drop in liner. I don't need the truck until November, but I do need something by then because my lease is up on my current ride. Doesn't look too promising now....

My apologies if I took it the wrong way, but today is what we are talking about, not 40-50 years ago. The cost and the wait is much worse there.
