SIBL isn't a company. It's an abbreviation for Spray In Bed-Liner. So do you actually know what you're talking about or just going 'Grrr, China!'?SIBL relies on key chemicals that are made in China for part of it's production. .
SIBL went offline for a few weeks last year from a winter storm. Almost a year from today.
Your dealer is probably going to tell you that you can't make a change like that. Additional, Tim has said that making a big change like you want won't fly because the books are now closed and Ford has an better idea of how hybrid and EcoBoost orders they need to make. However, it certainly doesn't hurt to try, because the worst thing they can say is, no.Hybrid XL with CP360 ordered on 10/22... Wonder if switching to 2.0AWD would speed up/ slow down the build date? hmmmm
A subaru forester sport was on my mind too.We are hanging on to our Maverick order just in case, but we went to Subaru yesterday & they are building a new car for us in Japan and expecting we will have it at the end of the month (it took a spot for a dealer car already slated for production). They said if we wanted to order a car that didn't have a slated spot, we would be looking at 2-3 months at the most. He showed me their full delivery log and Subaru is telling customers 3 month lead times and delivering what looked to me like on an average of 6-9 weeks from the day the order is placed. If your looking for a truck, that obviously won't be a good option for you, but if you can use an SUV instead, they were great and already communicating more than my dumb ford dealer ever did. Other than the obvious difference that it's not a truck, the forester we ordered has more than our Maverick was going to have in terms of features, ground clearance, head room, cabin room and still has a fairly large trunk space. We are just going to get a Thule rack and hitch to add additional camping storage. We ordered our Maverick on June 17th, it was supposed to go into production early Dec, then that date kept randomly changing. Went into production 1/3 with an eta of 1/24 and then that date kept jumping back until it went to May. We aren't in a position where we can wait much longer unfortunately with the car I currently have, so we are stuck. If Subaru can build and get a car here from Japan faster than Ford can send an already built car to me from 4 hours away, I'm going to be pretty impressed. And my family has always owned Subarus- they last forever. The one from 2002 is still doing great and has had less than $3,000 of repairs in its life. My Dad's 2011 is fantastic and has never had a major repair and my mom's 2016 with over 100k miles hasn't been in the shop once.
In theory, yes, no extra stuff and not a hybrid oughta help. But then not much about this goofy system makes much sense.Well being as I ordered a cactus grey XLT AWD with only a regular tow hitch, full size spare, and in cab power inverter as options, I should be good to go right? I didnt order any lux crap, copilot 360, a bed liner, or any extra widgets and gee gaws. I have s bed cover and weathertech mats at the house ready to go. I can install my own accessories at the house.
The attached article helps somewhat explain the shortage of chemicals for the SIBL, specifically Propylene Oxide.SIBL isn't a company. It's an abbreviation for Spray In Bed-Liner. So do you actually know what you're talking about or just going 'Grrr, China!'?
Yeah, you've got a pretty good shot. When did you order?Well being as I ordered a cactus grey XLT AWD with only a regular tow hitch, full size spare, and in cab power inverter as options, I should be good to go right? I'm surprised with your order that you haven't already received it! Did just order it recently?Well being as I ordered a cactus grey XLT AWD with only a regular tow hitch, full size spare, and in cab power inverter as options, I should be good to go right? Ford is telling us that there are more orders than what they can fulfill that have the cp 360 package on it.@fordvideoguy
Sorry for the tag but after digging around I can't seem to find this information:
Is the CP360 considered constrained at this time or is it expected to be put on the constrained items list? Or is it simply delaying orders?
Thanks
So do you think I should drop cp360 if I want to ensure the vehicle is produced asap and not delayed? It's not a critical feature for me.Ford is telling us that there are more orders than what they can fulfill that have the cp 360 package on it.
Well I ordered Oct 25 Hybrid XL with only trailer hitch and Co Pilot. Really dont want to drop the only main option I got. I'm in no hurry, but dont want to be pushed into MY23 really.Ford is telling us that there are more orders than what they can fulfill that have the cp 360 package on it.
