Hopefully mine is on it. My Maverick XL was built 01/26 and email from Ford on 01/29 that it has been shipped. Hoping!!!Yesterday, I saw a very long Union Pacific auto transport train in Nogales, Arizona, heading north from Mexico. Nogales is the entry point for Fords manufactured in the Hermosillo plant. I'm curious what the mix of Mavericks and Bronco Sports are on that train. It was the longest auto transport train I've seen in Nogales in quite some time.
It's a hybrid lariat lux, 360... see signature...
Maybe I missed it, but is yours EB or HY?

Did you order different models to just see which gets built first and that’s what you’ll “settle” for or do you want both trucks?Interesting, received email from FMC 2/04 at 11:00 pm that my 2nd ordered XLT Maverick 2.5 w/Lux moved back up to 3/07 from 3/21 after originally having a 2/21 build week. My 1st ordered Lariat 2.5 w/Lux with a estimated delivery of 2/21 got pushed to 5/22 like many others. Will be interesting to see if the XLT really gets built week of 3/07 and then shipped if the chip situation gets worked out. If so, will my Lariat get the chip(s) and ship before the XLT? Curious to see how this plays out.
I sure hope my hood does not have a decal saying "second edition"Thanks Tim
Kind of ironic, isn't it? After all that "whose on first" stuff, Thursday after Thursday, it won't really matter when your truck got put together because they're all "one chip short of a Maverick." Then when the chips finally arrive, the plant can put the chips in quickly and send them out en masse! MAYBE my truck constructed in December and given it's spray-in bedliner in January will arrive a week or two before those being built in April. But the trucks being built last will have been sitting around far less time than mine. Maybe the last built get the best deal after all.I'm thinking that now that the books are closed on ordering and Ford has a much better grasp on how many different packages they are going to need, scheduling might actually get better, especially if they are still trying to focus on the older order dates, which I for one am hoping they are. This also might finally give all those folks who ordered from smaller dealership a glimmer of light on finally getting their orders scheduled.![]()
Very true. Hindsight is 20/20 and it may work out that way.Kind of ironic, isn't it? When you post something like this, could you give us a link to the article?GM had announced they were not producing any vehicles other than high end models with heated seats, steering wheels or heated side mirrors. They are also limiting the availability of some of their safety tech on lower end models. Clearly all of those add ons require additional chips. I think it goes without saying that is the real hold up for those with Maverick Lux packages. Ford has just not said this yet, but they don't really seem to be very transparent when it comes to this stuff anyway.
Man, wish I would’ve been that smart. I was sold day 1 on the Maverick and on June 7th didn’t know what a Maverick was. I want the Lariat w/Lux. Month later my wife wanted one. She went XLT. In Sept. got a Bronco Sport that has adapted cruise control. My wife after a couple months or so with the BS said if Maverick doesn’t have ACC then she’s out. I don’t see me having 2 Mavericks but……Did you order different models to just see which gets built first and that’s what you’ll “settle” for or do you want both trucks?
After this whole mess I should have ordered multiple trucks from dealers in different regions and just taken what “won the race” to be built first.
Tim AKA @fordvideoguy: Is this still considered accurate? It's one chip that is needed in every vehicle no matter what the trim or equipment is.
That was what I was told, I wouldn't think they would let a vehicle sit a couple weeks. Maybe it's a chip need on a certain package like the luxury package or CP 360. That would maybe make more sense. Maybe I'll have to investigate more.Tim AKA @fordvideoguy: Is this still considered accurate?
I ask because:
I'm trying to figure out how that could be if the chip that is missing is needed in all the trucks. Why be unable to complete some trucks and then, two weeks later, be able to complete other trucks with no problem?
- there are a lot of posts on here and other threads about trucks built in mid-January that are being held up by the missing chip, and
- there are a lot of other posts about trucks built 2 weeks or more later that have already been shipped.
Are they using all the incoming chips for the trucks coming off the line and letting the ones that are "on chip hold" just sit? Or is it something else?
