Yeah you are right. I actually just did that in the meantime.

I found people waiting 15 months for a bronco from grainger, but there is a chance that they are getting cars faster now ?

Also came across this, which I assume is how they make a good bit of money back?

Honestly, I can't really fault Granger there, sounds much more like a very uninformed buyer.

We have everything submitted. We're waiting for approvals.

Ford believes they have 2022 production sold out on the Maverick. We've delivered 20-30 Mavericks so far with roughly the same amount in some state of production currently. With our recent influx of orders, that should boost our allocation for the remainder of 2022.

Chapman kicked butt to start on their deal and ordering so I believe they've received more allocation so far.
It'd be great to know when Ford gives that approval for the order - or not. That'd just ease the anxiety. If they don't then c'est la vie. See you for MY23!

Sort of, guess it depends on the lens.

I’ve dealt with some pretty straightforward dealerships in my time that come through. One of those is Cowboy Toyota in Dallas.

It sounds like you have to be persistent and informed here to not get taken advantage of?

But I guess that goes across a lot of dealerships.

2.8% isn’t terrible, but at 60 Mos on 25k that’s 1,800(vs fords 0 if you qualify)

that with transport washes out the savings

Beginners guide to buying a car:

1) Sale prices all that matters. Don't agree to monthly payment, agree to the sale price.
2) Turn down all "dealer' add ons. If they are charging you for a covid cleaning fee, tell them you are OK with covid in your car. If they are charging you for an alarm, tell them to remove it. If they are charging you for tinted windows, tell them you are fine they can take the tint off. Only agree to what the factory put in the car.
3) Get your own financing set up a credit Union before you go in. Once you have agreed on your sales price, talk to financing at the dealership about their rates. If it is not better than what your credit Union has offered you, take whatever rate will give you the biggest rebate. Make sure there is no prepayment penalty. Do NOT buy any extended warranties or other plans that the finance guy offers you.
4) Drive out of the dealership with your new car and go right to the credit Union to refinance.

This is gold. Someone sticky this.

how I operate as well. When I bought my toyo 5 years back, I had 1.9% capital one already set up and the dealer was able to do it from there. Didn’t even have to go in.

But then you give up the rebate that comes with their crappy financing.

When they say they'll take off $500-1000 if you take their 6.9% APR you just smile and nod. Your one and only goal at the dealership is to get total purchase price as low as possible. Rate shop elsewhere. Alarm shop elsewhere. Extended warranty (never worth it IMO) shop nowhere.

Didn’t have a rebate option when I but the Toyota, but in this case I agree if there is a rebate.
Is there one for the mav?

Who knows. Hard to say what will be available in 10 months.

Farm Bureau $500 for now.

Once the approvals come through will we receive any kind of notification/confirmation from either/both Granger and Ford???

It seems to be a hit or miss from Ford. I ordered a Maverick and an F450 on the same day and only received an email confirmation from Ford on the Maverick. Nothing on the F450.
I know Granger put the order in for the F450 though because they just sent me the VIN and build date this week.

FORD’s email hit my spam filter…

Also, some internet providers block some email prior to hitting your spam/junk filters. Computers are as smart as the programmers were on their worst day.

that sounds great.
I’ve heard somewhat mixed reviews on this and would love to get your take on this.

what I’ve heard is that the allocation system gets boosted for dealer orders(20+ P codes), but the allocation For custom orders still work in a fifo method (pending what complete kits that ford has)

Reason I’m asking -
I may sit out this current order out with local dealer and just order from you in summer for MY23 (if you run a similar offer)

the nearby dealer also mentioned that you ran a similar offer for the broncos. Any data you could share on whether you’ve cleared out that bronco backlog and if you saw allocation boosts with mass orders?

thanks again

I'm really not sure how the maverick will be handled. The reservation system opened up, then they transitioned quickly to orders. Once the truck started hitting the lots, the orders came in very quickly. From my understanding Ford believes they will be able to fill all current orders or close to that, I'm sure depending upon commodities, in the 2022 model year. How that will be allocated I'm not sure. On other vehicles 40% of the allocation is based upon retail orders and 60% is based upon historical sales. With the maverick being a new line, I'm not sure how it breaks down.

The bronco was a different animal with the reservation system and Ford has changed that 2 times already. I don't believe that's a fair comparison. But we certainly haven't cleaned out our orders for the Bronco.

Lastly, if you look at most dealer sites.. you will notice that “in transit” is automatically posted for inbound vehicles.

Just browsing your site, you notice many in transit, but none of them are mavericks.

(Based on your commentary for allocation, I would expect to see a lot more mavericks inbound when comparing to other ford dealerships)

My guess is that maybe you don’t show inbound customer cars ?

curious on some color there if you have a minute.

If we have a custom order vehicle we do not show it on our website. We have around 200 vehicles in-stock or in-bound. Only 25 are for stock, which is why you only see that count.
