In American they should include the Ford Maverick Limited Edition Oreo Thins - these are already in short supply / limited edition - just like our trucks, Check out the price on EBAY,

Wow. When did Ford start using Raiti’s Rides snack tactics to advertise the Maverick?

Sold some of my $F. Earnings are coming out tonight after market close. I expect the earnings to be good and likely to beat estimates. So why sell now? Even though Ford doesn't (typically?) give forward guidance I think there is a high probability that questions regarding production issues will be raised (e.g. "chip shortages"). If they answer that question, they have to be careful not to give a misleading answer on a earnings conference call. So, I'm thinking (right or wrong) that they will need to give a somewhat downbeat discussion on current production (as opposed to the last quarter) given the delays on (almost) completed production seems to be happening across Maverick, Bronco Sport, Bronco and perhaps other vehicles. The "big one" (in terms of earnings) is of course F-150 production, so who knows.

Disclaimer: You place your bets and take your chances. If wrong, it won't be the first (or last time) that I am wrong, and $f is not a major part of my portfolio, nor (as of this moment) have I sold all of it.
Follow up: $F now at $17.73, off 10.7% on the day and down 14% from Wednesday's close of $20.63.

Not in the hot desert of Mexico. Dry rot the cloth interior.
I'd be more concerned about the plastic wrap they put over seats melting. Although it's still a few months before we get to the high summer when outdoor temperatures push pass 110 and interior temperatures reach cookie baking temps!🥵🥵🤣

Everything tumbled. Thanks to FB,
Yes, most stocks move in tandem with the overall market. FB's miss did hurt overall market sentiment, but F also missed and more importantly still has production issues. AMZN had good earnings (well until you look to the fact that they too had a one time boost from the Rivian stake) and it helped to push the market higher (in after hours). But if you think Ford's report was better than expected, then I guess you do you, and good luck with your investing.

One of many blurb's this morning:
Ford Motor Co. stock fell more than 10% on Friday to hit its lowest in more than three months after Wall Street faulted the auto maker for its bottom-line miss and light volumes amid ongoing supply problems.

Ford stock (F) was on track for the lowest close since Oct. 29, when it closed at $17.08, and its largest one-day percentage decrease in nearly two years.

Ford late Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit and sales that fell short of expectations, saying that "persistent supply-chain disruptions" hampered its ability to meet strong demand.
As I said in my original post a) I might be right or wrong with by selling the stock and b) I still have part of my position. To each their own. So far I was correct in selling it.

EDIT: FWIW, I put some of the sold Ford position back on (i.e.. bought). EDIT: Bought @ $17.83.

I agree at this point $F is tumbling on its own.

Just got a reply from dealership that told me recently 40,000 units were put on a microchip hold. Was told that after production they are moved to a holding lot...crap.
I received the same news from dealer today....microchip hold.

I've seen plenty of 110+ degree temperatures here in Arizona.

I've never seen plastic melt on the seats; I've seen plenty of plastic items melt on the dashboard.

I never leave anything on the dash unless I'm reheating it for lunch. ;)

Oh what I meant by plastic wasn't the actual seats, but the plastic sheets used to protect the seats, it's like the stuff that covers your dry cleaning. I've seen it on 3 customer's XLTs I was looking at when I visited the dealership a while back.

Tim Bartz has a new video out on this:

FORD MAVERICK DELAYS AND CHIP SHORTAGE - YouTube

Basically, the push to May delivery is not a glitch in the computer system. It's real. They don't have chips so they are building the Mavericks and putting them in the lot until they get a chip shipment.

The only "good news" is that they picked a date pretty far out and it is possible -- if they get a significant shipment of chips -- that they will be able to move it up. But no promises...

I was hoping to get a tonneau on the bed as soon as possible to minimize UV fading of the SIBL.
Has anyone mentioned that hybrid batteries have a "shelf life"? It is not only cyclic fade that ages a battery, but calendar age too. Not sure how significant, but it is a real consideration.
It is called calendar aging and its effect can vary with other conditions. Not sure how sitting in desert for six months negates or contributes?

I'm familiar with calendar aging. It's had a terrible effect on me.

Not sure how much it's affected my car, though... :sneaky:
