Hi all,

New to the forums. I actually have had an old homelink auto-dimming rearview mirror from a Nissan/Honda installed on my XLT since November.

I just connected the homelink mirror power and accessory wire together with the power from the ceiling light console power. When you turn off the vehicle the power will still be there for a bit but will eventually shut off by itself.

I ordered A7062-ADUP1 from Quirk Parts, looks exactly the same as the others. When checking status, it says "ready to ship"

Yes, I see it. I was just reading on one of the F-150 forums that people are putting the Kia mirrors in. It is $20. Once word gets around about these, they will probably sell out and I can sell it if I can't use it.

You spoke too soon, word has gotten all ready, i’ve already went to three care websites and ordered them and all the orders have been canceled because the part is not available it’s on back and because it’s an old part will probably never see it, I’m gonna keep looking, hope I can find it somewhere. Great tip though!

I received my home link Kia Mirror today. I’ll be anxious to see install tips when my Maverick arrives. For $20.89 it’s well worth the option…

Poo I was hoping one of my three orders from links in this thread would stick. No soap, all three now have been canceled and $s refunded. Once I get the Mav, if mirror annoys me too muck I will spend a hour of so at a local bring your own tools wrecking yard. Should be one or more Kia Optima's in there.

Can you provide more details in how you wired it up.

What are the RED and BLACK connectors shown?

Where are the wires for the Auto Dimming Mirror in the pictures?

This thread reminded me I have a auto dim mirror in my garage I kept from my last car (its a frameless version with hidden compass). Heres some pictures of what under the panel, I ran out of time but will try to find power wire soon. I looked at it again, does anyone know how to get the dome light assembly off? , I think I will wire it to the light circuit but I pull on it and it wont come out, I will look for more info when I have time.

I have the KIA Auto Dimming Mirror and would like to wire it up without running wires all the way to the fuse box.

Is there any wires in the black box behind the mirror to get +12 volts and Ground.

I only care that the power is ON when the Hybrid is ready.

Pictures in order:

#1 - Black box

#2 - Black box opened

#3 - Taps and Wiring Harness for the Kia Mirror

#4 - Instructions for tapping wires

Just got my kia auto dimming mirror in... It mounts up right to the oem mount. I'm not sure
how I'm going to wire it in yet though...

Since it’s 3-wire you could check out my idea for running power using 18ga 3-wire solid copper thermostat wire to the fuse box, and use wago connectors to avoid the need for soldering or crimping connections and use that same power source for a dashcam later very conveniently, as long as you can stash the 12v to 5v adapter for dashcam hardwire kit somewhere up there. If you use 3-slot wagos you simply slot in the 3 dashcam wires into each of the appropriate empty wago slots and don’t have to do anything else. I've ordered all the parts, I'll make a post of the process once I've got it going.

If you’re definitely NOT planning on a hardwiring a dashcam or other accessory later then you might even just tap one of the lines up there for ceiling light or something if the hivemind considers that safe enough for the very minimal power required for the mirror.
