You might want to consider finding another dealer.

I say we funnel our business to the dealers who don't charge $799 for a fake "doc" fee.
I’m perfectly happy with the $799 Doc Fee for the convenience of dealing with a local business that has an excellent reputation. I’m paying MSRP plus the Doc Fee, and as you can see in my signature, my truck has been built, shipped, and should arrive by the end of the month.

That's quite a nice Maverick. I'm sure you will be very happy with it.

I too, would prefer to spend my hard earned money with a local business.

An excellent reputation is very commendable, especially regarding car dealers.

I'm all about convenience, but for close to $1000 (assuming the fake "doc" fee is financed), I'll try to find a dealer within a reasonable distance who doesn't inflate the sales price with unnecessary fees.

I definitely encourage everyone to find the right dealer for you. For what it is worth, our dealership is a family owned dealership (just this one)that is a little different than others. That is the reason I decided to try my hand at this industry just over a year ago. My goal is to build relationships with my guests, and I do.

To some, it’s about the best deal. To some it is about the experience. All of my customers I have gotten to know are thankful for the easy experience. Go with what makes you happy. That’s what matters.

I will do this, anything I have coming my way, I will post it up here. If it is not what you are looking for or you feel wrong about the price or anything else, that’s fine. No hard feelings.

Did they try to sell you any extra 🐂 crap items? Reason why I ask, the dealership closest to me said I was required to buy a third blinker (rapid system) for 399. I refused, spoke to the GM and they wouldn't waive that requirement. Luckily I found this forum and am now paying 4 percent below invoice instead of MSRP.
Nope, nothing. Very friendly and straightforward.

From MLowe05, a GA resident who bought from Chapman Ford in PA:

My build with Ed @ Chapman 4% under invoice:

Cyber Orange Lariat Lux Hybrid - MSRP $31,360
My OTD price after 4% under invoice = $31,918 (this includes all GA taxes and all fees).

Local dealer - $31,360 + $699 dealer fee + $130 license + $2,080 tax = $34,139 OTD

So I am saving $2,351 by going with Chapman.

I never really understood this idea that one would pay more for "the experience". Like, you mean the experience of buying a new car from a dealership?

All dealerships feed you this same "experience" line, but I've bought more than 20 cars in 20 years and did the legwork on at least that many for family and friends in the same time. The "experience" is all the same - and having a root canal would be preferable, at least that is over quickly and doesn't result in months of nonstop phone calls and emails.

Buying a car is a business transaction and dealerships all operate the same - so pay the least amount you can. Do your homework. If you can travel or pay shipping, search nationwide. Create burner email accounts and phone numbers to give to dealerships to protect your own sanity - the emails and calls will take months to stop, if they ever do.

Yeah, if I want an "experience" I will go to Disney World or maybe a massage parlor.

I wish someone could quantify what "the experience" even means, especially when it is used as a justification for spending more money.

Here's what I want as my experience:

1. I want the absolute minimum amount of interaction with any dealership employee as is possible. We are not friends, I do not want to be your friend. Don't call. Don't write.
2. If Carvana/Vroom/Carmax do not need to lay eyes on my trade, neither do you. If I misrepresent my trade, your offer can be modified. So drop it with the "bring it in" line. It's BS and we all know it.
3. Don't add anything to the vehicle I did not specifically request.
4. Why is the first line always "when can I schedule you for a test drive?" Stop. So annoying.
5. Don't ask to see me prior to delivery. I am not coming.

Ok, I haven't seen any shoutouts from Georgia ppl yet. I put my Mav order in at Hardy in Dallas, GA in June and there were already 36 orders ahead of mine so I know you're out there.
Ordered mine in June as well from Hardy. Got a build date of 1/13/22 but checked today the 9th and it is in production!

Mine will be arriving at Hardy any day now. As far as I know, it's at the railhead somewhere around Atlanta right now.

Ordered my hybrid lux Lariet from Covington Ford on 6/11. 7 months later I have a VIN, window sticker and build this coming week. They’re accepting X-plan pricing which is a bit under MSRP and will help on the typically high Georgia dealers doc fees. Long wait, but I’m going to enjoy this truck.

I live in Dawsonville and have my Maverick now purchased off the lot in Savannah Tenn
I live in Marietta. Ordered my First Edition Hybrid on June 21st & am scheduled for a Jan 17 build date. Woo-Hoo! Also, I am fortunate in that my sister works on the line at Ford building 250s so I get the A-plan price.
