As many of us are still sitting here waiting for a build date for our hybrid maverick. Honestly from those that have them are they worth
the wait. What are your likes and dislikes?

Now that many parts of the US have now had their first taste of winter, I'm curious if any Hybrid owners have driven on icy roads and how the FWD handles (Not snow.. but ice)

Totally worth the wait for me, and I waited a little over 6 months.

The truck is everything that I wanted, and more. I especially love the fuel efficiency and (very unexpectedly) the eCVT. Very smooth power. Handles well in the snow. Carries all of my stuff. Comfortable ride. Not pretentious—just a great small truck!

Dislikes? Not many come to mind, aside from very minor niggles. The brake pedal is a little touchy, but I’m mostly used to it now. I wish that I could leave it in eco mode, rather than set it each time I start the truck. That’s about it.

I rec'd my hybrid 12/23. I have about 600 miles so far. I live in Michigan, temps have been 15-30 degrees. Takes a few minutes to warm it up for heat as it starts on electric. The MPG is 41 over the last 225 miles. That is going 55-60 mph for at least half and the other half city driving. No complaints with the maverick. Drives and handles great. Smooth ride. My .02

My only complaint is having to use the key on my XLT. It's my fault given that I drove a vehicle with a push-button start for the last 3-years.

Ive had mine for ~600 Miles, and honestly there isnt much to complain about except some minor issues. Ive had the 12v battery die, unknown why, and the remote start has a weird smell.

I love the gas mileage, its comfortable interior, the 360 COPILOT stuff. It generally drives and feels responsive and smooth, and has a surprising amount of pep in sport mode.

Complaints wise, I would have to say the battery dying was annoying, and YES as someone else said, the brakes are super touchy. Oh and what idiot decided you dont get cruise control as standard on the XL model, that is pretty annoying, but not unbearable.

I also dont like how the whole android auto has to connect via a usb cable and isnt wireless, and I had some issues with FordPass not working for various reasons.

Picked up someone's canceled Hybrid XL order last month. Coming from a coupe and needing a work truck it has been life changing. Mpg is very impressive and will easily get 40mpg with my kind of driving. I was initially skeptical about the CVT and FWD configuration but it's really not bad. It's no sports car but it's ridiculously practical.

My only complaint is that sometimes when the gas engine turns on while I'm driving it's a bit rough, enough that it's very noticeable. But for the price point I don't think it's a big deal. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat because anything else hybrid/electric would cost probably double.

I have had mine less than a week, and less than 300 miles.

It was worth the wait. It is a nice truck. It handles snow, ice, and slush as well or better than any FWD vehicle I have driven in the winter.

I wish I could put both the Digital Speed AND the EV Coach on the screen at the same time. That is about the only change I would like to see so far. (After I add Cruise Control to my XL.)

Stick with it, I expect you will be happy.

About 200 miles in the first week, and I have nothing to complain about. It's been great so far and definitely worth the wait/investment.

Regarding icy conditions. On NYE we were at a friend's place about 30 minutes out in the boonies. Pretty slick roads coming back because there were snow flurries most of the day that melted on the road and then the temp dropped quickly to 0°F. The roads are also pretty curvy and slightly hilly (my friend's wife rolled an AWD Subaru on those roads a couple winters ago). The maverick handled it flawlessly. Great stability and traction. My wife even commented that it "felt good."

I originally thought the same thing, but now I wonder if it would be too easy to accidentally leave the car "running" if there's no ICE noise. Needing the key would help prevent that. (just my thoughts as I'm still awaiting delivery)

I can't say if it is worth it for you, but it was definitely worth it for me. I am a big dude. 76 inches tall, about 350 lbs, and have been driving around in a beat up 2007 Dodge Charger for a number of years. Long story short, it was time for a new vehicle, but I am very frugal with my spending and wanted something that was more fitting for my purpose. The Maverick checks a whole lot of boxes for me (price, size, room, fuel economy, has a bed, doesn't have to be plugged in) and the charger was going to last at least another 8 months before it really needed the suspension overhauled, so I had the time to wait.

Some folks can't wait, I could.

I should also note that the one thing I had potential concerns about before driving the Maverick was how the resistance added by the regen might cause issues on the ice. I haven't experienced any issues yet. I wasn't in eco mode when I drove in the icy conditions since it adds resistance/regen. I'd like to test eco in a more controlled environment first, and I'd be interested in anyone else's experiences.
