I called 4 dealerships until I found one who would order the replacement parts first, then schedule the appointment. Most said the car had to be "in Service" or that the airbags had to be inspected first (contrary to the recall notice) before ordering replacements.
Agreed! My acceleration from a roll also noticeably increased when I lost ~5lbs of unsprung/rotating mass per wheel on another car.
And yeah imho the Maverick could use a little more contact patch.
Not the guy who asked about the MPGs but I'm guessing because if you go to a wider wheel/tire, you gain traction but also a wider contact patch which increases rolling resistance.
To be fair, using the OEM tire on the Sparco Terra would only increase the contact patch by like 0.25" or so.
Since basically the beginning. Never drove a hybrid before so I assumed when the ICE kicks on it might be rough. Doesn't happen every day but I know to give it more throttle in the mornings.
Mine does this as well. Usually after first startup in the morning, as I go up a small hill. My guess is the gas engine starting up under load or trying to run too lean for the load its seeing. I can avoid the problem by giving it more throttle over the hill than normal.
I've seen white wheels on a white Mustang before. I will say, like the other poster, that matching is difficult, and brake dust/road dirt and oils will make it look dirty. But I actually like it tbh.
I've been looking into lighter rims myself to replace the steelies. I've gone down 5lbs per wheel before and it made a huge difference in braking and acceleration from a roll (same wheel dimensions).
I have the Truxedo Sentry. It's great but I open it many times a day. The velcro is a little annoying imho and if I were to do it again I'd probably get a trifold because of how often I open my cover.
Have the lighter wheels affected the Mav's braking/acceleration from a roll? When I got lighter wheels when I had a WRX it was a huge upgrade to both and I'm wondering if it's worth it on the Maverick.
Not hard at all. An extra hand would just get it done even faster but not even a 30 min install, including opening the packaging. Maybe for lifting the cover onto the rails because it's a bit large but not really an issue. Plenty of Youtube videos on how to install on other trucks and it was the...
Picked up someone's canceled Hybrid XL order last month. Coming from a coupe and needing a work truck it has been life changing. Mpg is very impressive and will easily get 40mpg with my kind of driving. I was initially skeptical about the CVT and FWD configuration but it's really not bad. It's...
