Warning: I ordered a Maverick XLT on 10/15/2021. On 1/4/2022 I decided I wanted the trailer hitch. I called my dealer to add the $100 option. Low and behold, that incurred a price increase of $80 to the Maverick plus $200 increase for the moonroof and $110 increase for the co-pilot 360. So a $100 hitch ended up costing me $390! They could not revert back to my original order. I am reaching out to Ford. I'm sure that will help, not. Has this happened to anyone else?

I ordered Oct 25th, thought about changing colour but not going to touch changing anything with a 10 ft pole!. . .
Yep. I thought about removing floor mats as one less item to delay my never getting scheduled build but now - nope - lol

That sucks. They should of warned you about the price increase before you added something to your order.

The only positive thing I heard is with the price increase you get whatever financing or incentives are available at the time of ordering. Not sure if financing offers are different than before the price increase but I don’t think there is any incentives.

moral of the story: KNOW exactly what you want BEFORE you order! Stop making changes AFTER you order and this becomes a non-issue.

You should have price protection based on the original order date, the pricing should be adjusted at the dealer when you take delivery. The order preview will show pricing code 225 after 12/27. The only price increases that would be relevant would be any changes/additions from the original order.

I think they are in error. There have been a few videos about the orders before some point in November being price protected. We can assume positive intent by the dealer. But you would want to gather the info from the videos and let them know the deal.

Also good luck and report back if you need any assistance. I'm sure the group can chime in.
There are a couple of videos on YouTube on how to share the knowledge with the dealer so they don't hike the price on an existing order.

The trailer hitch wasn’t even an item that had a price increase so it makes no sense.

In essence, you're "re-submitting" your order and it will be past the date for the old pricing.

I changed my order on my Bronco numerous times and my order date changed with each change that I made.

Think I read something about making changes after a certain date meant it was treated like a new order and you went to the back of the line? If that's the case, could be what happened here and price protection is a moot point since order placed after item price increases.

Does anyone to have the old prices before the December 27th price increase?

They should still be on Ford.com build and price. It hasn’t been updated yet.

Ford increased the pricing for all units that had not been invoiced. I ordered mine in October, and looked at the order on 1/4 and the price went up by $887 and I didn't change a thing. Ford did release a statement that the prices were going up but it still sucks. You have to wait 8 months to year to get your pickup, oh by they way we're increasing the price also. Way to treat the consumer.

That applies only to hybrid trucks where the trim level is changed, such as going from XL to XLT. A minor change like trailer hitch would not bump your order to the back of the line.
