Well... My truck was just delivered last Thursday and went through the new vehicle inspection today, which went well, but mine was one of the 5 thousand that has to be checked. Now I am probably waiting a week, if not much more, to finally drive my Maverick.

That was an unfortunate call from my dealership... UGH

Fingers crossed that the tank is just fine!

My truck is at the dealership since 12/16. We can't have it because of the recall. The dealer said she had to wait for more information from Ford. We called her this morning and she told us they have to inspect the truck and the only time they have to do it is 01/06. Still have to wait... 🙄🙄

My Maverick was built 10/9 and after having delivery date pushed back 4 times, it finally arrived at my dealer but is part of the fuel tank recall. They pulled the tank yesterday and did a pressure/leak test and it failed. Dealer has zero info on even a rough ETA of when they may get parts in to repair. Incredibly disappointing and continued frustration after waiting all this time. I'm going to call Ford corporate/customer service and see if someone has any ETA of when new fuel tanks are going out to dealers. Someone has to know!

Just curious, if you put your VIN into the Ford Recall system does it pop up? I had mine built 10/05, yet nothing shows up (spray in bed liner/xlt, etc.) I have filled it many times with no obvious fuel leak but still cautious.

My Maverick arrived today and guess what they won't sell it until they can clear the recall to pass the inspection..... from what I am told regardless my dealer won't sell it until they can get a new fuel tank on there. Apparently they will have it tomorrow?

I just put my VIN into the recall system and it comes up as no recalls, so my guess is this recall isn't loaded into that system yet. Looks like based on the 1st post of this thread that letters aren't going out to owners till 1/28.

Yeah that is what I was afraid of... technically I fall into that category, will see if the letter shows up in Jan/Feb or update through the website.

I see the drain holes I assume at the front of the Spray In Bed liner behind the front cabin.... looks like 11 holes across the front, I'm assuming the ones to be concerned with would be the front left side on gas tank side? Curious if there is any easy way to check this from the bed looking down?

My order arrived at dealership today. Had been on hold at Petersburg VA since early November. Has fuel tank issue so it will have to be inspected and repaired if necessary before I can pick it up. Does not show up in the recall system. Only learned today that the fuel tank was the reason for the hold.

So my dealer is telling me they cannot clear the recall, fuel tank was fine, and Ford sent some replacement bolts? Anyone else running into this? They said they had to pull the fuel pump as well? Sounds like its a mess

Some of the bolts they remove when dropping the tank are considered one time use, so once they take them out they have to replace them, mine is waiting on the same thing.

So...if the tank has been drilled through, where's the fuel filter? Is there one? What else can we expect to fail as a result of Ford's carelessness?

They apparently overnighted the bolts and they have them..

Concerns me too. My order sat on a lot for close to two months. If the fuel tank has holes and they are located directly under the bed drain holes, did my tank accumulate water? What damage would that cause?

I am having 2nd thoughts on my Maverick hybrid. What all has to be removed to get the fuel tank off? If there is holes how much water is in the fuel system. Truck has already been sitting almost 5 months . Or am I just over thinking all of this mine should be at the dealer in about week. Was told it would be at least 3 more weeks before it would possible be ready.
