Nice catch, guessing someone on the assembly line put too big of a bit on the machine doing the drilling at some point
It wasn't done on the assembly line since the spray-in liner is done off site, and was when they were cleaning out the drain holes in the bed of the spray-in liner material.

The SIBL is not done in the factory. The Maverick it is sent off site to another company to do it.

Why is everyone always trying to blame the factory workers. (n)

Also for anyone who is having the SIBL done after the Maverick is delivered I wonder if something like this (drill bit to long) could also happen and if so would you even know.

Just one more reason not to get the factory spray in bedliner get it done after the fact
Why do you believe aftermarket SIBL companies couldn't cause the same issue?

For me I am going with the hard drop-in bedliner as it looks great and I loved the one I had on my 1998 Ford Ranger.

Not only would you not know that it was done, getting the fuel tank replaced brings up a whole other headache in proving who did it since it wouldn't be covered under the Ford warranty (unless done by the dealer).

Another reason not to "top off" when refueling. Probably someone checking MPG actual vs. computer discovered this when topping off the tank.
