Why wasn't the threads checked with a go/no go thread gage after replacing the tap? This is the quality we get for $8 an hour non unionized labor. Expect to see many more recalls. I won't see my truck for six months. It gives me time to think if I will accept it when its delivered. Unfortunately manufacturers will accept crap made in third world countries for the sake of their bottom line.

Have you actually watched the build video? This isn't Pedro screwing together trucks outside a mud hut in Tijuana. It's a top of the line factory manned by highly trained people. One could take that video and tell people it was in the US and no one could tell the difference.

Never said other cars haven't had recalls, wasn't born half past 2 yesterday for goodness sake. Saying recalls are "a non-issue" isn't true, if it was a non-issue there wouldn't be a recall. Got to call a spade a spade. I'm not going to cancel my Maverick order over it.

I stand corrected thanx. They are under a lot of pressure from Ford corporate to produce. Maybe not be the workers fault. Mistakes will happen.

Just got a call from my dealer (i'm in Canada). I was supposed to get my truck tomorrow but she said she can't deliver it because of the fuel tank recall. She didn't have a lot of info, she will call me back with more details but she said I will probably get my truck in the beginning of January. (The truck arrived at the dealership last friday). My built date was 11/20.

Hmm. Unless there is a new recall we aren't aware of, yours should be unaffected by this recall. Mine was built 11/18 and not affected. You are a month outside of this recall date. Maybe they are confused. Maybe suggest they check for recall by VIN?

I know i'm not affected by the seat belt recall but I didn't see the dates for the fuel tank recall...! I hope i'm out of it and the dealer will call me back with the good news!
