My dealer confirmed again this week that if we want to order an XLT with Luxury package, we can only order the Drop- In. Many reasons, we do not want the drop in. How hard is it to remove? Are there any downsides to getting it and pulling it out? Seems like the only way to get in an scheduled is to not have Spray-in, then spend extra $$ once we get the truck to get spray in. Looking for input on how to get this through / others that have gone through the same issue. Thanks

It sounds like a number of dealers have been readily willing to exchange the factory drop-in on arrival and have a spray-in installed with no change in price. You might inquire if your dealer would do likewise, or for the difference in cost between the old Luxury Package and new one which is only like $120 I believe.

I have an XLT lux w/spray in on order, so far I have been set back four times on my build week. Started with scheduled week of 11/15, four set backs later now have 12/13 build week. Is the reason for the set backs the spray in liner, dealer nor myself know the reasons.

I ordered a Maverick Lariat earlier this week and the dealer said the spray-in liner would delay shipping as would splash guards and tonneau cover.

Contact Line X. Ford uses the Line X product at the factory. While getting it applied after market at your local Line X dealer my be a little more $ than factory, it may be worth it. Line X claims that when applied at the factory, it is applied over fresh factory paint. My local Line X representative says that having it applied at a Line X dealer, the surface of the paint is prepped to received the Line X, an additional step not performed at the factory, which provides for better adhesion. Also better warranty from Line X local.

I went back to my dealer and had them remove my spray in and tonneau cover. Got my build date yesterday.

My dealer says because I already have the build date no way to take off the spray in bed-liner.

Well we went ahead and ordered - Ford is offering Lux package with drop in as a “1a” option apparently - bypasses the delays we are told. They were not seeing any other real constraints as long as we didn’t order accessories like Tonneau. No idea how a spray in is constrained vs. a drop in, but that remains the case. Said I could have ordered a Lariat and picked Spray-in…but also likely slow to schedule.

So we submitted the order with Sawgrass Ford in SoFla yesterday (12/9/2021), confirmation email today. Hot Pepper red XLT 2.0 AWD with Moonroof, Lux Package, 4K Tow, FX4, and Co-Pilot 360. Manual rear sliding window, full-size spare. Unfortunately can only order lux with Drop-In bedliner, no way around that … even if we we get a chance to change it before scheduling need to be careful as might slow it down. As noted above, probably easier to rip out bedliner and get spray-in done when arrives.

Plan to add tri-fold Tonneau, likely BakFlip MX4 but want to wait a bit and see what others have to say as they get their Mavericks in. Dealer was great, no charges or fees not even dealer or acquisition fee on our Buyers Order. I’m thinking 5 mos. to get but dealer insists 3-4…will see. Will be selling the 2017 Ridgeline - oddly it ends up being about an even swap.

I ordered XLT AWD/ Lux and FX4 2 days ago. Just looked at build order and it does say drop in bed liner. I have to find out if I can get that switch after delivery. I never would of caught that. Thanks for info.

The drop in is really very good-when you see it I bet you leave it there. Not like the old Mr. Turtle pools as drop ins we are used to.
