you have to have the vehicle repaired and get a inhanced inspection to get a recontructed title. That's the only way you can legally drive it.
California: smog, brake and light inspection, no outstanding recalls and another DMV form and fee and I was back on the road. I did replace most of the plastic on the rear of my truck but I really don't feel it was required by the state or DMV.

speaking from my experience as an attorney, and not giving legal advice . . .

It may be worth keeping your own insurance involved--particularly if the other company is one of the low-end, sketchy places. They get it fixed, and collect from the other company. This also has the advantage of your company, rather than the other, setting the value.

Also, if there's an injury case going on, as an attorney I've found that I'm really just in the way if I get involved with the vehicle valuation (again, there are exceptions, and this assumes that you have a "good" company on your side.

this varies widely from state to state.
So, is it totaled????? Damage repair estimate yet?
No word yet. Tow truck just picked it up Tuesday afternoon.

And you know this because???? Curious to hear it from Elduchey. I've seen some strange "It's totaled" out there. Thanks.
Because if you look at the damage in the pics it's very easy to see that it is not totaled. 2 doors door hinges bedside work a fender some inner door damage and blend and paint and the estimate total of $9,700 And there is no unibody frame damage at all. That is what totals out Mavs very quick.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree with you. I was just curious what the final verdict was from his insurance.

No its not totaled. I spoke to the manager who is going to be handling the job and asked specifically about the ding on the inside of the door frame as I was concerned that it might have compromised the frame but he said that is the "outer body" and is not going to be a problem to repair. The biggest issue is the availability of parts from Ford.. He estimated it taking a month.
