I think buying a vehicle under 30K is a pipe dream. Remember, fees, shipping, dealer prep, taxes, registeration, thats 3-4 grand right there!

Me too. Took my "24 XLT into the dealer for oil change and tire rotation and ended up buying a '25 Lobo. Watched "Motor Week" this past weekend and saw the exact same truck being reviewed. They loved it. So bottom line is that oil change, prepaid earlier, ended up costing me $9000. It had a lot of features my XLT didn't have, so what the hell, I'll be 80 next week so I might as well spend some of it before the kids do.

Same with us when we traded in our '22 Mav for a '25 version of the hybrid. Got what we paid for the '22 even with about 26K miles on it, and the '25 gave us some nice extras we didn't have. Plus the brand new warranty helped a lot, as well as the fact that after having to constantly have Ford change the battery on the '22 (4-5 times before I bought a Diehard), we have not had one battery issue going into our second year with our new Mav. I decided I would be happy with my truck the way it is. All those extras, while they are nice they are not getting me the life I want. Using the truck I have is the smarter financially. Since I have paid over 60% in one year soon I can have a paid off truck and they are always introducing new features anyways. This truck was a major upgrade in itself and I love getting in the truck every day.

Paid off truck is the way to go.

Frankly, keyless ignition I can take or leave. I dont really like where its mounted on the Mav, having to reach down and push forward feels a lot more awkward then on the GLI, where it's next to the gear lever and you just push down. But I also like turning keys, so W/E.

Mavs hold their value incredibly well, so even if you wait another 2-3 years you'll still get plenty for it.
