DIBL to cut or not to cut, that is the question

I recently got a 2023 Maverick. I ordered a 2023 with the spray in bedliner. My dealer called and another Maverick had become available. The one I ordered had not be scheduled so I jumped on it. It has a DIBL. I would prefer the spray in but all in all, life is good. As some of you have noticed, the factory DIBL does not have cut outs for the two storage panels located near the tailgate on both sides. The funny part is the plastic side panels show indentations so if you cut you are not cutting blindly.

I have 2 questions for anyone who "made the cut"....

1. Are you happy with it? Do you regret it? Does it rattle or does it work for the most part?

2. The two side panels are clearly marked on the DIBL but the accessory panel is not. Did you cut out the accessory panel? Did it come out ok? What did you do to make it look "factory"?

I have attached pictures of my DIBL so you can understand my question. If you have a DIBL on order, you should be aware of this.

Answers to you questions
1. Are you happy with it? YES Do you regret it? NO Does it rattle or does it work for the most part? WORKS FINE Use a fine tooth blade, cut slowly, follow the lines, any small mistakes can be filed or sanded

My factory DIBL has the storage cut out already but not the other side

What model do you have. If it is an XL then there is no need to cut out for the storage as there is no storage compartments. Unless you plan on doing mods that need access then by all means cut them out.

I believe there panels are there. I took the panels off to run drainage for the tonneau cover but I believe they are there. Can some on with a 2023 XL with either no bedliner, spray-in or mat confirm? I may cut them out this weekend.

XL's have panels (covers) on both sides but no storage compartments.

The covers can be removed and storage compartments can be installed.
Some people use the covers to install outlets. light, and/or switches.

The same part fits both sides. You will need 2 more screws for each side
Your covers have 4 screws but the cubbies need 6 screws each. The 6 threaded holes are in the truck bed.
