Purchased in Dec 2024, did not last 2 years in the Arizona heat and sunlight. I've tried "back to Black" and Armor-All to no avail. The material seems to suck up the liquid protectant but by morning it's back to ugly. I'm going to remove and replace with paint protection film. More expensive yes but it should last.

I used this on a family member's Maverick after someone scraped the rear bumper, and it worked perfectly. It's a dye, so it actually penetrates the plastic, unlike the other products you tried that are just for shine rather than fixing sun damage.

Tip: Clean the surface first with a 1-to-2 ratio (1 part 70% alcohol to 2 parts distilled water). Also, applying a ceramic coating on top helps a lot! Definitely worth a shot. A little bit goes a long way. Good luck!

I live in AZ as well, "The Disputed Lands", if anyone here is familiar with the TV show "Brockmire", starring Hank Azaria. It is so good...I think it's on Netflix now. Four seasons.

But I digress. The AZ sun is a "worthy adversary". I have to park my Mav outside and I don't want to get a black tonneau/bed cover or bed mat because I don't want to fight the AZ sun. It fades and degrades just about everything, it's just a question of when. White colored vehicles (like mine) are VERY common out here. So many white pickup trucks!

I agree with the better quality one from Ford. I got mine on a discount and have been happy with it over a year with no issues.

Solution finish or Cerakote Trim coat. The only options that actually work to restore trim and are semi permanent for a couple of years.

Thanks for the replies, I'll be visiting my son next week, he's the mech in the family so we'll see what he thinks.

Paint it. What do you have to lose?
