Certainly not the first time I’ve been wrong here on the forum. I’m aiming for a .333 average:)

Did you know that both you and I are considered part of “Generation Jones”? I like that term better than “Boomer” and certainly better than being called a “senior citizen”. Anyway, I’ll avoid using the term geezer. I suppose I can use “old fart”?
.333 is still considered an outstanding avg! And Generation Jones was my uncle too! 😝

As the picture shows, 3 generations. My father in law has now passed, my son is now 51, and I'm now 72. We just got back from our g-sons wedding. Time passes quicker as you get older. I read many of your comments and appreciate the information. This is a great forum filled with all the information someone may need, and sometimes just a friendly word to say hello. Enjoy the ride my friends.

Seems you had to use google to see what it means too, young one:)

I used the term as meaning an old fart TBH. Lots of old fart geezers on this forum.
Hey, I resemble that remark!!

Offended by the word geezer? You are obviously not one yourself:)

What I mean is that it is socially acceptable for a geezer to use the “G Word”. Younger folk, like yourself, should probably avoid using the term.

Similar to using the “N Word”. You have to earn the right to use that term in a socially acceptable way.
As a person who was born in the "N" catagory, I've never liked the word. Not even when my own "kind" use it. It is based off a negative definition of where I came from. It's the lowest word that can be used to describe me and my native land. But, I am a geezer, old fart and all the things that go with it. Why? Because that describes all races who successfully reach the milestone.

Peace be to all in here!

I’m also in my 70’s and while I wear the “Geezer” badge with some degree of pride (from having achieved said status), I bristle at being called Boomer. And I’m really not sure why.
Having been a community member of many forums over roughy 40 years - I’ve developed many friendships, some which will span the rest of our lives.
So, I get it - the concern for MIA members is real.

Live long and prosper.

This has been a great read. Turning 64 later in the year and worked since I was 12...always lucky to have a job and complained everyday about them -- which means I cared about what I was doing.

Now as for this Forum...well... I LIKE IT !!!!!

On the forum I've been told I'm an idiot, been run over by a train (guy that complained about his back and his driver seat and no idea was good enough...you must remember that one) It was not enough to drive me off.

Started looking at putting a clam shell tent on the back of my (quoting someone in this thread) erection green Lariat and have been searching this forum like mad and think I have found how I want to do it.

I'm a true wise ass when it comes to remarks and responses - as some have seen - but I love reading this forum and responding to some of the threads.

When it gets boring I'll just look...at when to change my oil, what filter to use, what viscosity works best..... 😂

In the early days of this forum we had some good members. However, they were pretty much chased away by a handful of other members who probably should have been banned, but weren't. Oh well, such is internet life.

I went AWOL for a bit in late 2025, early 2026, mainly because I got so busy. I only just posted something about colors and hauling the other day... might have been the first new thread/posts in 6 months?

1. Had moved my Mamá and my wife's parents from VA & NY to AZ. (included purchasing and performing upgrades on two homes for them) 2nd half of 25
2. Started a business 1st half of 26.
3. Spent time researching and learning about other topics (related to golf carts, my new biz) and there's only so much time I want to spend online.
4. Haven't done much new to my Maverick to tell anyone about.
5. Ford hasn't really given us much to talk about with the Maverick (beyond cooling downgrades for EB 4K Tow, Tremor suspension retrofit options, Upgraded turbo options)

I haven't tuned into Tim Bartz in ages, and I really enjoyed his YouTube shows. Just got busy.
Yeah, I loved Tim Bartz's YouTube shows too! His newsy podcasts and Q&A kept me sane while waiting for our truck to be delivered.

I was very active on here while I was waiting for my Maverick to be built which was about 18 months for the first and 24 months for the second (didn't take that one) and for a little while afterwards to get some ideas for modifications. Since then, I've been over it and just pop on once in awhile to rant about the latest issue I have with it.

I think there are a lot of dimensions to why some profiles go dark. Unfortunately some people do pass. I think most people either just lose interest or sell their maverick. Additionally, forums can be kinda stressful, it's often seeing a bunch of people who own the same product as you talking about all the things going wrong. So I think that scares some people away.

I'm back now, but I went dark for awhile for a variety of reasons. That was one of them. I was on the verge of selling my 2022 hybrid because of the forums. It was a case of just really bad mental health and a lot of stress just from life adding up. It was like, oh man, all my grandparents are dying, my severely disabled brother is having issues, and I had financial stress, and it was just everything hitting me at the same time. I'd go on the forums to try to get away from it all, and end up more stressed seeing all the ways my truck could break and my brain convincing me it would happen to me next.

I ultimately held onto my maverick and I'm glad I did. It had the battery saver issue and the shudder, but both those issues were resolved for no cost. I'm expecting my axles to fail on the coming years, but it's not a huge deal. My truck hasn't been flawless, but it hasn't been a POS either. As long as I don't have like catastrophic issues with the e-cvt, hybrid system, or 2.5, all of which seem highly dependable, I see no reason to get rid of the truck.

Maybe I've just adapted to stress better, but it doesn't get to me as much as it did two years ago. Now I'm back to using the forums as a way to clear my head. Like my father passed away this morning, and this just almost gives me a sense of peace, a distraction.

I don't remember that specific color of green being on offer, maybe it was limited to the XXXL trim.

Sorry to hear about your dad and grandparents.
