Day - Night light sensor replacement?

Has anyone had their Day - Night light sensor on the dash or associated components replaced. If so what was actually done and what was the symptoms of the problem?

My sensor seems to have stopped working. It stays on night all of the time so that my screen displays are always dim unless I turn off the auto headlights.

I'd be curious how the top cover gets removed. I feel that the cover is not dark enough, I seem to be the last vehicle on the road with it's headlights on in dusk conditions. I'm thinking that maybe wrapping it with some tint film might do the job.

Never mind, I found this. Looks like the sensor is a 1-piece assembly.

O.P. has a thread here where they have determined the sensor to be stuck on night mode.

Yes my head light switch always defaults to auto mode.

In the other thread they tried toggling that. They need to go to the delaer and have them look at this under warranty, I think.

Sadly for a repair like that you'll probably have to head back to the dealership. Hopefully you're still under warranty.

I should be, the truck is 3 weeks old, with 400 miles on it.
