Interstate driving with a 2024 Maverick Hybrid?

PLANING a drive from the northern Tiers of PA in my Maverick hybrid to Myrtle Beach. Will be taking interstates most of the way. Some speed limits reach 70+ mile per hour. Will my 2024 Hybrid be able to handle it? Anyone have any experience making such a trip?
In your Hybrid - gas stops will be infrequent. Hit the rest stops to stretch your legs etc. I developed a DVT once after a long car drive. Fun trip though!

My '24 hybrid does just fine for any duration on the interstates. I usually drive 65-75 but faster isn't a problem.

I wouldn't put the smart car down. I owned a 2005 diesel cabrio and drove it Toronto to Florida twice. It was carefully designed and had standard stability control features built in that far exceed anything a Maverick has to offer, even 16 years later. The other safety systems were also carefully integrated into the overall design as well. I know it looks small, but don't assume it is a piece of junk.
Even did a lap of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Yeah, OK, shoulda known somebody would jump on that... amend my post from "Smart Car" to '70s vintage "MG Midget" or the made in Athens, Ohio "King Midget."

That's a low IQ take. Trust me, in my profession you learn quickly there are a LOT of stupid questions. I can't give specific examples because it's a government job with sensitive information. But I'm talking questions equivalent asking someone to prove the Earth is not flat after being shown pictures of the Earth from space.

You’re saying his answer was stupid. Aren’t you helping prove his point?

There are far fewer stupid questions on this forum than there are stupid answers. Of course, there are not that many stupid answers either.

Your response (and mine) tipped the scales a bit more towards stupid answers.

Here is a stupid question to help balance things out - ever hear the expression “hoisted by your own petard”?

On two occasions I have been asked, 'Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?' I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.

In this particular case an honest question asked out of ignorance on a particular situation does not make the question stupid. When your answer belittles the question and you resort to name-calling does not make the situation any better.

I disagree. To me, saying "there are no stupid questions" is equivalent to youth sports where everyone gets a participation trophy and there are no losers. No.... kids need to be taught that there is winning and losing and they need to learn how to handle both. I'll leave it at that.

I agree with you. If a person asks me a stupid question - I get all presidential and say “what a stupid question!”:)

Although when a person says “I have a stupid question” - most folks say “ask anyway”. Many times it turns out not to be stupid. And if it was stupid - at least they warned us ahead of time.

Kind of like a kid who knows his participation trophy is a joke but takes it anyway. Knows the trophy givers are lame. Can’t blame that kid for it.

When a person answers with the cliché “there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers” - I agree with them.

I have found in life there are both stupid questions and stupid answers. If you dont think this... you just might be the one asking or answering with them ....🙂

I drove from Camas, WA to Custer, SD last year, with a stop by Devil's Tower. I was concerned how it would do at the higher speeds since I'd never owned a hybrid. Perfectly understandable question! It did fantastic! 80 MPH all the way across Montana and Wyoming and never broke a sweat! Super comfy, too. My overnight was at Bozeman, about 14 hours, and I felt fine. Hopped out in Custer, hugged the cousins and ready to go! I have a 2024 XLT Hybrid, truck of my dreams!

Have a fantastic trip!
