My brake warning goes off often on winding city roads with every parked car I approach.. These warnings are sent to my insurance company and my rates go up. I seem to have no option.

The problem I have with the collision avoidance is that sometimes acceleration and steering is needed instead of brakes, but brakes is all it can do.

Change insurance company? Eire doesn't require a tracker.

It's definitely the adaptive cruise. Pre collision assist will make more noise than an annoyed R2-D2 before it takes action.
I never
considered the adaptive cruise control. The OP @Busa789 never stated he was using the cruise control or ACC.
I'm sure he would have mentioned turning it on.

Do you have to turn on adaptive cruise control and set it, every time you start the truck?
Is ACC it separate from standard cruise control?

On the 2024 it remains in the state it was last time. It can be toggled off, and remain off, or on and remain on. Not sure if that changed in 2025 but unlikely. I have experienced it slowing the truck when a vehicle is on the merge ramp moving into the lane but never had it apply brakes in a strong enough force that I would notice.

The op would have had to initiate some type of speed setting wouldn't he? The OP did not state he was using cruise control or ACC.
Unless Ford changed that since MY2023.
I have to turn my cruise control on every time I start the truck.
That was one of the biggest changes I noticed between the Maverick and my Buick Encore.
Cruise control stayed on in the Encore.
Lane assist stays on until I turn it off but not my cruise control.

Yes I have to activate on the steering wheel and set a speed. Adaptive cruise is then active. But I can go into the menu and turn adaptive off, which I have done, and cruise will not slow or brake the vehicle.

My point exactly.
You/Driver have to do something to enable cruise control and/or adaptive cruise control.
The op @Busa789
never said, that he had Cruise Control or ACC on. That's why I went with Collision Avoidance Assist.
Now if the OP states, that he never initiated cruise control or ACC that's a whole different ball game.
Is it possible that he didn't realize that his truck has adaptive cruise control🤷‍♂️

Thanks guys. Yeah, I looked at pre-collision settings and mine is in the middle setting. What gets me is the other vehicle is considerably ahead, not a risk, and maybe not even going slower. I don't see any notification on the dash.

My 2022 Camry had pre-collision assist, and it never did this. It only activated 3-4 times in 60k miles and they were sketchy situations where I understand the application.
Ya - if it was the pre-collision assist - you'd get the warning.
Way before brakes were applied.

Good call on it being the ACC.

I can only make an educated guess using the details provided.

He accidentally called it dynamic cruise control in OP.

And it defaults to using ACC, you have to manually disable.
At least that setting is kept.

Thank you. I apologize.
The details were there if I slowed down and took time to read them.😔
I re-read it and got it. Sorry.
I totally apologize and I know it's not the first time I've done this.😔
I definitely need to slow down AND READ.

Are they telling you this - or you are just seeing rates increase, and associating it?
And have you adjusted the settings?

My last 6 month renewal had minor rate increase - reason being vehicle type and claims.

From the number of totaled vehicles mentioned on here - not shocked.
From the number of expensive repairs of what appeared minor items - not shocked.

I'm only hoping it's very regional, so I'm not offsetting other areas with more wrecks.
It usually is, except for the expense of parts and truck stays about the same everywhere.

You may be in one of those areas on the losing side.

Can't the notification setting be turned off through the infotainment system?

Yeah, "Dynamic Radar Cruise Control" is what Toyota calls it, and my last vehicle was a Camry with that tech. It did not have this problem, and the emergency braking worked great also.

I have had it happen using both regular cruise control and adaptive. Even with the regular cruise control it could still be a safety feature the truck has due to the DCC hardware being on the truck. It would be interesting to know if anyone without DCC has experienced this.
