I have owned nothing but Ford over the past 30 years and they have been all reliable. Some of them I have had over 300k. My next vehicle will be my last and final and it will be a Ford.

I don't blame you for getting rid of it. Enjoy your Toyota and not having that feeling like you're living on the edge not knowing if your MAV will got Tango Uniform on you.

I am happy to be part of the recall world record.
My last Ford was a 2013 Edge 3.5L Duratec and was my only reliable Ford so far. 170k with nothing but fluid changes and the occasional Sync glitch.

Wish I could say the same for all my other Fords. It took a bit of getting used to when I would get into my Nissan Frontier after I first got it and everything...worked.

And yet I am waiting for a Maverick XL hybrid AWD 4k tow to hit the used market.

New. Ordered in September od 2022, got it in July of 2023.
Thank you for the reply.
I've owned GM's, Toyotas, Fords, rambler, AMC, Renault, smart car, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Chryslers products back when they were Chrysler. Right around 47 vehicles in total. Some new, mostly used. I never knew how the previous owner treated them.
My Maverick has been pretty Rock solid, well other than the dashboard rattle.
I feel bad that you're owning a Maverick has not been a positive ownership experience.
Good luck on your next vehicle.
Take care.
Sincerely,
GB

I bought a 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid brand new. At 1500 miles I was driving down the road and the same thing happened. All the warnings lit up the dash and it went into limp mode. I had it towed in and after 3 weeks of the dealer checking it out they couldn't tell me what happened. It ran fine after that but after a couple of months of worrying about it when I went out of town I traded it in for a 22 Maverick Lariat first addition. I liked it a lot better than the Toyota.

Taking my 2023 Lariat hybrid to the dealer I bought it from today. Selling it back to them.
Monday, it went BAT SHIT CRAZY. It would not start and had 6 error codes rolling across the screen. I used a jump box to get it started and drove 40 miles with only partial brakes available, and rolling codes on the dash. NOT FUN. The third time I have had to use a jump box to start it. Always on Batterty Tender Jr when not being driven. They replaced the 12v battery and flashed 5 modules.
Enough for me! I offered to sell it to them, they offered me $26000. In 4 hours I will get a check, they will get the most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned in 66 years of driving. Good luck to the next sucker. I'm getting a Toyota. I have owned three Toyota vehicles over the past 16 years, and I will own nothing but after today.
The MTC has been a great resource, the Maverick was fun while it lasted, but I am done. Fartley can continue to build record breaking recall vehicle. I won't own one.
Well, imo it's better to do what ya gotta do to give yourself peace of mind and satisfaction. Life's too short to be unsatisfied, mad, bitter, etc. it just eats at your soul. Hope you have happiness with whatever you decide to replace it with.

So....did you ever buy the new battery? Seems kinda silly to sell a vehicle when it just needs a new 12v lead acid cell. If you've had to jump it twice there is a very good chance your going on 4 year old battery is EOL, and the stock Ford batteries are not very good anyway.

Dont be scared of turbos.....Europe and Asia have been building them for decades without issue. They wont bite. What WILL bite is the electronics package on any modern car, if the battery goes bad, everything panics. Its just a feature of computer powered cars.

Seems to be a common problem with hybrids now for some reason. I owned another older hybrid before and never had any problems during 6 years of ownership and I wasn't even the first owner. 16 years old with the original Panasonic AGM battery, it was crazy. The newer hybrids just seem to have way too many 12v battery problems, regardless of brand. Toyota, Lexus, Ford, all seem to have it, guess they are all just cheaping out and not developing good software or hardware for the vehicles anymore.

Well there is that too for sure, but without all that EV nonsense, the company and the shareholders would be 19 billion dollars richer today. Once it's lost, it becomes red ink and never comes back. Lot's of tax write off I would say.

It’s almost like they’d be insolvent if those billions brought the business down. But it didn’t come even close.

I agree those billions lost are like a gnat on ford’s elephant ass.
