Naa I sold that after the second bricking in the desert years ago to a private party. did fine on the sale actually made some cash. Had a 10 year 100k ford plan on it so it was an easy sale. Got an Ionic 6 sedan to replace it. Much better than a Tesla.

I was on the MachE forum yesterday and still see complaints about PAAK problems! I never did like the idea of using my phone for a key. My Wife just got a new Ariya for $21K below MSRP! There are a lot of things about it that I like better than the MachE and we both loved the MachE experience!!

Dam working on the car that you own is kinda cool lol. How much did the Escape Hybrid cost? I have heard/seen people swap the cluster over since it does have a better overall feel; But with that in mind I am curios to know how much was the escape when you bought it? Since Afterall the maverick was meant to be a cost effective vehicle.

The Escape was like $40k out the door on A-Plan for a loaded Titanium. It was my daughter's, it was her first new car and she has expensive taste. So it is not an apples to apples comparison. But the '20 Escape hybrid system seems more refined, which is not really affected by options.

I would (and did) buy another hybrid. My green '25 Lariat was totaled two months ago and I had put a little over 17K on it. Replace it a little over a month ago with the '26 Lariat.

Interesting side note. I still have the old one on my Ford app and it had been showing the status as running since the accident. I periodically check to see if it shows a location after being sold at a salvage auction but no change. Finally, a couple days ago I got my first ever battery saver mode notification and thought it was the new truck as I haven't driven it in over a week but it turns out it was the '25 after sitting for two months.

Yea definitely makes sense. 40k . I would be concerned if the scape at all look like the Mavericks interior LOL.

I went with the Hybrid as it seemed to match my driving situation right now - part-time commuting less than 40km round-trip, and weekend errands/rec use. I barely put 5-10K per year on my truck these days, but in the first month and a half of ownership I have seen some truly astounding fuel efficiency, with comfortably over 1000kms per tank and It's not even broken-in yet. We have no true freeways on Vancouver Island, so sustaining 120kph (75mph) is exceedingly rare. The hybrid seems to fit very well around here.

Based on a year’s experience with my 25 hybrid and a lot of research into reliability, particularly of the eCVT transmission, I will never buy another gas only vehicle again.

My son is buying a compact crossover and is only considering eCVT hybrids.

When my wife’s RAV4 needs replaced in a few years, shes getting a hybrid, maybe plug in

Ecoboost and the 8F35 transmission have come a long way but the Ford designed eCVT has delivered, not just 15 mpg more, but far better reliability for two decades. And nearly a decade before that in the Prius.

The Camry, Rav4, Prius, and Escape hybrid NYC taxis regularly deliver 300k+ miles with basic maintenance

That's why Henry equipped his cars with gas engines he wanted more range and wanted a faster refill time.
