In that case, id still pull over and help if you were broke down. But, since you drive a Maverick, we know thats not possible

No
Erie,
They are very affordable but they don’t take monthly payments. I pay in full once a year.
Bigger insurance companies are best.

Allstate was big, now they are just another underwriter.

Erie insurers Skyscrapers, Air ports, homes of course.
Erie s the one insurance company I dont hear bad things about.

Buddy had his house burn down, Erie rebuilt it, and paid for a rental for 18 months, no questions asked, AND told them they were asking for too little to replace what they had.

My car insurance is only $800 combined for annual coverage, with full on the VW. Far lower then the $1300+ other companies quoted me.

Lightening hit my house and did $27,000 in damage.
As you stated Erie paid for everything including all our meals in restaurants. They even paid for bags of ice for my cooler to keep food cold while waiting for a new refrigerator.

They had me list every single electronic device that the electrical field compromised even if it still worked, they paid me current replacement cost on everything.
My $600 washer died, they gave me the $900 its replacement cost, etc.
A year later my over the stove microwave failed, they covered that also. The next summer a ceiling fan slowed way down.
New one goes up, no cost to me.

They closed the claim three years after the strike.

The big difference In Erie and all the other underwriters and insurance companies that stood out to me was,
Erie did not raise our premium at all, never did.

A neighbor had a big fire. He had State Farm.
He was so screwed, had to fight them all the way through. Afterwards his rate went up 40%
He dropped them.

If all it did was give the temperature reading on the dash, yeah it wouldn’t be a big deal. The thing is it also controls air intake to the engine, so in the end that means the air fuel mix, making the difference between it being correct, rich or lean. That has an impact on fuel use, and engine power.
I think it also triggers the opening and closing of the louvers in front of the radiator.

State Farm Is NOT a good insurance company. I would never sign with them, after the one time I did and they tried to screw me, Unsuccessfully. I canceled that policy in a flash.
Well, I cannot judge them on just this one thing. I have been with them for fifty years and quite satisfied. However, I firmly believe any insurance you have is only as good as your agent and his assistants. Mine has done more to help me than I ever expected.

Sort of like a person's satisfaction/dissatisfaction with Ford is often the result of how good/bad the dealership is with whom you are dealing!!!

Stay Safe!!

UPDATE:
The estimate was about $9,700. After they disassembled it, there was more than $5,000 additional damage to repair making the total over $15,000. Way more than I expected but still not totaled.

With the price of parts, I see why so many vehicles are totals. Each headlight (they had to replace both) was over $1,600. My gawd.

Ryan,
I hope you don't mind I put your two posts together to illustrate how costs add up on something that looks so minor.
It's always the hidden damage.
I am sorry this happened to you
Had a wreck today where I t-boned a guy who entered the highway when he couldn't see what was coming. No airbags (surpised), no injuries, and I was able to drive it away.

I now have three trouble codes.

Any recommendations for the DTCs are appreciated.

It hasn't been adjusted yet, but I hope it's not a serious repair. I've seen too many threads on here where a minor-seeming accident was a total.
This ☝ "minor" looking damage.

Ended up 👇 Costing over $15 Thousand.

Would they let you order the FORM lights and apply the other 400+ toward deductible or something custom?
