Front PTU:
- Spec: Motorcraft SAE 75W-85 Premium Synthetic Hypoid (WSS-M2C942-A).
- Capacity: ~0.4 - 0.5 Quarts (12.7 fl oz).
- Note: I’ve seen reports that the Tremor PTU lacks a traditional drain plug. It looks like you have to remove the two 8mm bolts for the water-to-oil cooler and slide it back to drain the fluid. Can anyone confirm?
- Spec: Hypoid Oil Ford 75W-85.
- Capacity: ~0.9 Quarts (28 fl oz).
- The Additive: Does this RDU require the Motorcraft XL-19 (Torque Vectoring Additive) or XL-3 (Friction Modifier)? I’ve read the Tremor RDU needs roughly a 5% mix of friction modifier to keep the dual clutch packs from chattering.
Has anyone with a Tremor done this lately? Did you add the friction modifier separately, or is a "Limited Slip" gear oil enough for these twin clutches?
