I have this issue with every vehicle I've owned, not specific to the maverick.

Yup, except my 2011 Taurus where the bottom of the door covered the whole rocker panel.

Mud flaps may help keep some of the dirt off the panels.

I drive on dirt EVERY time I drive.
The Mabett flaps help a lot, but a leg lift is still required if you don't wear jeans.

I checked it out today, at 5’11” and 155 pounds of in shape hotness my legs don’t hit anything when I step in or out.

Yes, I could see the issue..
The Maverick's door sill is Higher than what my Three Rangers had...
I had to "Learn" to "Step-Up" when I enter and leave the truck.
Which was a "Bad thing"...
"Good thing"... the Maverick has "Door pockets".. which is something my Ranger's never had...
