Ordering a 24 LTX 2.0 AWD I would like to use a bare key in ignition and keep fob in pants pocket, will this be possible ?

Correct, you can't use just a bare key blade. The fob contains the microchip for SecuriLock, Ford's PATS (Passive Antitheft System) AKA engine immobilizer. That's the thing select Hyundai/Kia vehicles are missing, making them notoriously easy to steal (see news reports).Without the fob the engine won't start correct ?
Thanks for the update!I doubt it, but unsure. Usually the immobilizer range for keyed ignitions is very short, like within a few inches of the ignition area.
EDIT: definitely won’t work, the maverick keyed ignition uses the same as most fords: 128 bit RFID transponder that needs to be close to the ignition to turn over.

Long story short, you have two options. Use the flip key as is or see if you can source a basic Ford key with the built in microchip. Not sure if they make one compatible with Maverick.
Ford offers one on some of the larger commercial trucks/vans that looks like this (the black plastic house holds the chip). Not sure if it's compatible but don't see why not.

I read a post yesterday where someone furnished multiple links to several keys and how to pair them. Maybe thread was "KEY REPLACEMENT"?I'm in the process of getting a spare flip key for my 2023 XLT Hybrid right now. None of the 3 key fobs shown on my dealer's computer screen match the pair of fobs delivered with my truck. I believe this might be because Ford had supply chain issues and provided a depopulated fob without the remote start function. The parts guy rummaged around in the back and found one that appears to be the correct fob for my situation. The bag had Ford P/N 164-R8130 and the vendor's web site as AFTERMARKET.STRATTEC.COM. Visiting their site, this fob was described as StratTec #5939651 - "Ford 3 Button Center Mill Flip Key (315 MHZ) (L,U,P)" and was also known under StratTec's #164-R8269. The description claims that this fob fits Fits 2020-23 Escape, 2021-23 F-150, 2021-22 F-Raptor, 2023 Lightning, and 2022-23 Maverick. I ordered one of these from Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J47II4Y. With any luck, my local locksmith will have the magic to complete my journey.
Thanks for the link. I actually found a couple of those inexpensive flip key fobs on Amazon in my search, but decided to go the extra few bucks and get the StratTec one (sold by Ford). The cheaper ones listed in that link do not have the blue oval logo on the back, although the second "plastic headed" (transponder only; no remote) key appears to be authentic StratTec. I've had reliability problems with the low-cost ones in the past, where the keyless remote stopped working in about a month and created a HUGE personal hassle. I'm hoping there's a valid reason the StratTec ones are more costly. (LOL) Amazon's customer ratings seem to be really useful in this.I read a post yesterday where someone furnished multiple links to several keys and how to pair them.
