You will never be able to stop all the rattles, because you will find more since you will be looking for them. Maybe trade in or sell you Maverick for a Toyota with better sound proofing. So I recently got a 2026 ford maverick hybrid lariat and it is replacing a 2025 in the same spec that was totaled so I thought I knew what I was in for with mavs. You know the scuffy plastic and what not but this new mav has basically broken me. It started with a slight buzz in the drivers door then maybe a slight one in the b piler and then the dash and now I have theses buzzes all around it feels like and worst of all this is the sorta tapping rattle coming from the passenger side. I can't for the life of me seem to be able to track it down and worst of all it seems to go away and then come back so I really have no ideas.
Now one I think it is a pretty bad look for a truck that costs this much but beyond that I am hyper sensitive to noises and to be frank I don't want to drive it anymore and when I do I have to do things like blast music or roll the windows down to help(note it really doesn't solve it so please don't recommend doing this). It has gotten so bad that on some drives I have to pull over and calm down for a bit.
So with that background here is the problem I am not sure if I should:
A.Keep the truck and work on fixing these noises and rattles with a combo of sound deadening material and foam and tape.
B. Sell the truck and get something with a more solid interior that is less likely to make noises
C. something else I don't even know.
The problem I have with A is that I am not sure I can fix them or if more will appear. Can long term owners give their thoughts? Do the rattles and noises get worse because if so I think cutting my loses soon may be a option to strongly consider. However I don't love option b either because one it would mean losing money and 2 there is nothing else like the maverick and I honestly don't know what I would buy.
Overall I want to love this truck I really do as on paper it is almost prefect for my life and needs because it can get such great gas mileage while still being able to haul stuff for work and hobbies. But these noises and quailty issuses are making me start to wish I didn't buy this truck. So any thoughts? Anyone else go through something similar and if so what choice did you end up making? I also just want to add this here at the end I am not trying to bash this truck or anything I am simply looking for advice as to what I should do.
I'm also a bit OCD about rattling and such. I've discovered two things. First, tracing the noise is difficult. It never comes from where it sounds like it's coming from. Second, it ends up being something in the rear seat. I jiggle and shuffle stuff around until it goes away.So I recently got a 2026 ford maverick hybrid lariat and it is replacing a 2025 in the same spec that was totaled so I thought I knew what I was in for with mavs. You know the scuffy plastic and what not but this new mav has basically broken me. I had a 2005 Canyon that had a 5 cyl engine, not a 4 cylinder!I feel "ya
The GMC Canyon is a very nice truck
That sounds like GM. One short of a six pack.I had a 2005 Canyon that had a 5 cyl engine, not a 4 cylinder!
They are. I had a Chevy venture I was selling because we had purchased a newer car. The person that bought it brought his mother over as she would be driving it also and she started it and sat in it just listening. I asked what she was doing and she said sometimes vehicles make a him that hurts her ears and she was making sure this one didn't. I said ..ooookaaaayyy. They bought it.A lot of people seem to be very sensitive to a lot of things
Are you referring to the 1.5L EcoBoost (Dragon Family): A larger 3-cylinder engine introduced in the newer compact SUVs, such as the Ford Escape and Bronco Sport....?!That sounds like GM. One short of a six pack.![]()
Using the word's three cylinder and dragon family together, reminds me of this dragonAre you referring to the 1.5L EcoBoost (Dragon Family): A larger 3-cylinder engine introduced in the newer compact SUVs, such as the Ford Escape and Bronco Sport....?!

Honestly this is my main worry that even if the ones right now can fixed that more will pop up over time. Guess there is no way to know the future though. You must have, or the pavement where you live is perfect! For me the first year it wasn’t too bad, just the odd rattle, but now at all most 4 years old, there are more and more rattles as time goes on.
