Should I sell my New maverick or not?

I have never purchased a new or used car that did not have rattles. But it's not hard to figure it out. I usually start with one of the annoying spots and remove that trim. Then while driving try and figure out where it's coming from. My mav lhad an uncut tywrap in the A pillar and a loose screw holding the dash bezel. There are two more rattles in the B pillars caused by lose trim clips...I'll get to them in a few weeks. They don't bother me as much when I know what they are!

I would never sell a vehicle I otherwise liked because of rattles... I would just fix them and get some satisfaction from doing it.

Find a 25 still for sale. Tell the dealer you want to drive it for two days and if it is quiet you will trade him the 26. Some dealers have demos they may let drive a day or two. I see some with demos for sale. May find a 25 with a private seller also. If you liked the 25 find another quiet one. Just a thought..........

This is a pretty interseting idea. The problem or at least worry I have is that the 25 isn't any better I just got a good one but I guess being able to test one would increase the chances of finding a good one. I will look around and see what 25s are on the market.

Warranty. Call the selling dealers service department, set up an appointment. Be firm and polite about the problem. Get a service advisor to drive *with* you to hear the noise.

I would be a bit worried about them making the problem worse but I guess not doing anything isn't a good answer.

My previous truck was a 2019 Canyon with the 200hp 4 cylinder. When I first sat in a Maverick it felt like a Lada or something - cheap plastic everywhere. Canyon got better mpg than my Maverick also.

That said, I really like my Lobo performance & handling - but the fit & finish of the Canyon was way better. Paid a bit more for my 2025 Maverick than my 2019 Canyon.

That said, the interior of my Maverick has grown on me. More “stylish” than the soft touch everything on the Canyon. Although soft touch does not rattle or buzz.

What is your plan for dealing with the lose clips? I have seen some people use like a felt tape but I am not sure how well that work. And good point on if I like the rest I should probably just fix the rattles. Just wish that I could fix the dang scuffs lol.

I use felt tape... And sometimes goop when I need to fix a clip in place. It's flexible, and removable using pliers.

As for the scufs. I have not had too many of them, but whenn I get one that bothers me, I use a torch and lightly heat the plastic (passing the flame across the plastic quickly). The scuffs disappear.

You have a factory warranty. If you haven't done this sort of thing before I strongly advise you to have the dealership service fix this.

You can break things if you don't know what you're doing.

Good idea getting a spare piece of trim to practice on. Junk yard would be a good place to grab one.

Pulling off the pillar trim is easy and I leave it off till I fix the rattle. Add some felt tape between the airbag connectors and the metal. They tend to rattle a bit.

Don't try to do all the rattles at once. One at a time and make sure to leave the trim off a few days to make sure it's fixed.

Yes, they have one on offer in every market except the US, alongside the single cab 7 speed manual with the 7' bed......And the SUV version, the Everest, which would be a slam dunk in the US market.

We've already seen how that went with the Tacoma. Almost no difference.

Once you get into 2.5 ton BoF trucks the hybridization really doesnt help out like it does on the mavericks. Even on the mav, the AWD hybrid gets noticeably worse MPG then the FWD model and requires a lot more babying.

The PHEV ranger looks neat, but once you're out of the EV range you're getting the same if not worse MPG then the normal Ranger gets.

I did try out the Canyon when I was shopping for a F-250 replacement, and the audio system stood out on the Z71, it was REALLY good, made my GLI sound like a cheap Kia. All the controls were sensible, and the power was alright too!

But the ride SUCKED. That Canyon was somehow both bouncier and a much harsher ride overall then a 35 year old HD truck with the heavy payload package. And the seat was super adjustable, but hard as a rock, effectively a 8 way church pew. Such a disappointment....

Generally yes. Heck, my F-250s would squeak and rattle so much that it became white noise after a while. When I got my GX470 (with 350,000 miles, mind you), it was so deathly quiet that it was surreal.

I agree. Squeaks and rattles that just need bolts tightened or foam tape applied are generally covered under the 12-month, 12k mile "adjustments" warranty unless something broken actually caused the squeak or rattle.

Personally I think the tacoma hybrid is just a bad hybrid and doesn't make the idea of hybrids in midsized trucks a bad one you just need to change how you do them ie a larger battery and very likely a plug in. Because while yes the mpg would be similar to a normal ice truck when the battery dies if you are able to get 30 to 40 miles of range out of the battery you can cover most daily driving needs. At the end of the day though it comes down to the use case at least for me a plug in midsize would mean nearly all battery commuting while having the power and range to tow for trips and what not. Really I just want to see more options for non standard trucks in the US market.
