Well the time has come. Bought July 2023 and installed right away. Been pushing my luck since then but recently 3 out of the 4 red tail lights are dead, and I think the white back ups might be dead too. I planned ahead and got the replacements but when I swapped them looks like they are already dead. The diode dynamics aren't cheap, like $50/pair. Any one just give up and get the Form lights?

I put the lasfits in just the backup bulbs and cargo bulbs back when u got my MY22, they lasted around 6 months. I replaced them with diode dynamics and been a happy camper ever since with zero issues. Their not Chinese 💩 so with that and my experience I wouldn’t hesitate buy recommend them. Agree they not the most economical but quality products rarely are. Agree the form assemblies are really nice looking for Sure, imagine they pricy as well. Good luck in whatever direction you choose to go!

Sylvania Zevo LED replacement bulbs are built to last in Italy and are not expensive. They're well heat sinked and not overdriven like most Chinese LED bulbs. I use them with FORScan to disable the hyperflash. It's a much cheaper option and just as effective as Form taillights.

Actually, the LED replacement bulbs that DD sells are made to their specs by a Chinese supplier. Their LED units with housings such as the SS3s are made by DD in their US facility.

This is from direct email communication I've had with their senior sales rep:

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out! Many of our offroad lights like our SS5, SS3, SSC2, SSC1, hitch mount, etc are all made in house at our facility. Many of our bulbs are made by an overseas supplier in China to our exact specifications, as everything is designed by our in-house engineers. If you have any other questions, please just let me know!

This is exactly what I have done. Most of my bulbs are older than my Maverick. I took all of them out of my F-150 when I crushed it.

I also had Lasfits fail. All replaced under warranty, and now the replacements are failing. I believe it is due the the fact that the resistors are in the light bulb housing itself, and they get way too hot and burn out. I got some “alla lighting” bulbs without the resistors. Time will tell how they last but I suspect it’ll be a lot better than the lasfits.

That's certainly an option. I just don't like the slow response of the incandescent bulbs and the safety implications of that, especially when the difference in response time is equal to a full car length or more at highway speeds.

I think this illustrates that well. LED left, stock bulbs right:

My longest lasting Lasfits are my backup bulbs which have lasted 2 1/2 years now but maybe i just don't backup a whole lot. :D

A third vote for the Sylvania Zevos. Mine have been going strong for 5+ years across two different trucks.

One thing I appreciate about the Zevos are how the tail and brake light brightness's are significantly different, just like the regular incandescent bulbs. Other brands that I've seen and inquired about have maybe a 10-20% difference between "tail" and "brake".

I concur about the Lasfit cargo / 3rd brake LEDs. I ordered a 4 pack (2 white & 2 red) a while back. They were brighter than OEM but they all died before 2 years. 3 of them in the 1 -1.5 yrs. I reached out to Lasfit last month. They were nice enough to send me replacements, free. So customer service is 5 stars. Quality, TBD. Will see how long the replacements last. Hope they improved the quality.

Thanks for feedback on the Sylvania Zevo LED. Looks like they have a lifetime warranty; good sign. Or maybe the DD but they are more expensive. (Yeah, yeah, you usually get what you pay for.)

Word on the street says the OEM versions don’t cost anything extra and last a very long time

I purchase the Panda Motorworks LED sequential tail lights (OK I'm a Mustang owner - always liked the sequential). Love the brightness and the patterns on them. I got the smoked version since my 2022 Maverick is cyber orange.
