Have they? Anyway my point was that if the brakes really did go out, that is obviously a major issue. Half of the replies to that thread doubted him, but the other half were outraged in sympathy and telling him to sue the pants off Ford.

If an accident-causing brake failure happened to me, the settlement I would’ve gotten would’ve allowed me to join a Lamborghini forum, not just come back to MTC like nothing happened.

There is no shame in being 86. That’s a lot of life to have lived. But I have also watched with my own eyes a lady about that age “hit the wrong pedal” and accelerate her Oldsmobile through a parking stall, over a curb, through a chain link fence, over a stack of pallets, and into a pile of concrete block on my construction site. I’d wager that scenario plays out far more often than a complete brake failure. In the case of the MTC member, I’m suggesting his silence is an admission of guilt, but it’d be wrong to confront or ridicule him anyway, so it doesn’t matter…
Here's one I know I've seen another one or two.

There is no separate "NAV screen" on a maverick. Translated from Boomerese: his infotainment screen was going black.
That was my point that you apparently missed.
IIRC, only the Lariat trim and higher include a built-in navigation system, so the XLT would require the use of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for navigation via a phone..
In that case it could be his phone has an interface issue and not the infotainment screen.
That means no HVAC controls. No Bluetooth controls, ece. That is far beyond an "inconvenience. And dont forget, that screen is also YOUR BACKUP CAMERA. And you cant see twit out the back window of a maverick, that is a legitimate safety issue.
Or NOT.
Just as likely based on no information other than conjecture, none of the above is true.
The OP never stated that as a problem.
If his phone has problems communicating with the car, everything else may be fine.
Apparently when reset the problem was resolved.

We also dont know how many times he has taken it to a dealer for diagnosis.
True. So a guess of once is a good as a guess of 5.

You are making different assumptions. That doesn't mean they are accurate.

As the guy was a one and done, I doubt he ever read this thread after his vent.

What may be of continuing interest, is that Lemon Laws vary by state, and most (all?) have a significant impact component.

To get a car to qualify for a return must usually be something that affects your ability to use the vehicle. Having a navigation screen go blank seems highly unlikely to qualify, even if the dealer has problems immediately correcting the issue.
.
Not watching where you are going and driving into an oncoming lane is a driver failure, not a vehicle problem.
The navigation screen is also the rear camera Screen. That’s safety. It HAS to work all the time.
And for the lemon law, there has to be multiple failed attempts to repair....
Yes. For example in Florida a few things can trigger the Lemon law. A vehicle being in the shop more than a certain number of days in the first year for 1 problem or combination of problems (not 100% sure of the time period). Or three unsuccessful repair attempts of the same problem. But after a lemon law claim is filed, the customer must allow a FINAL repair attempt.

Well.. As I have said before...

Another, "Post -N- Go" thread...

Though, this reminds me of the guy (who posted here on the forum). Who drove into a storefront and than blamed the brakes for NOT working... 🤬

Jerry
In my opinion it's actually RUDE to post as something of that magnitude and simply go GHOST. If he wasn't going to respond. All he had to do was just take his Maverick back , attempt to retrieve his beloved Silverado, and not involve us. It's not as if we searched him out .

Since the Chevy guy never followed up with anything, who knows what was actually wrong and what was done. It could have been a very simple fix or a module update or a loose plug or perhaps it was a glitch.
Nobody but the guy who dropped the note knows. Maybe it was just a troll test tryout.
I do know he wants to return a 2026 XLT when his profile says he has a 2025...
Hmmm...

Without documenting his issue, he could well have just showed up, ranting and raving and the dealer checked out the vehicle and everything was working...

The OP struck me as a guy with a critical case of buyers remorse if he was at all legitimate.
Oh well, this thread has been a waste of time, so perhaps that was what he wanted.

I consider the infotainment screen going completely blank while driving a legitimate issue. All the rest are questionable. I am seriously confused about how one can lock themselves out of this truck though. The doors won’t lock when you touch the outside handle if the key is still inside if I’m not mistaken.
I am fairly new here, so I just learned about the many threads on this site about people claiming to lock the LH Drivers side door, maybe locking themselves out. See this thread, it's the latest one: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/door-locking-incident.81083/

Apparently it is easy to hit the lock lever, which is above the interior door opening lever/handle that you must use to open the door from the inside.

yes,the lower price lured him into buying what he didn't want to begin with, some fleet owners have found out the mav's with full equipment aren't that great off road(easily damaged) for petes sake people get a "power wagon or hEMITT if that's what you need.back in the ice age when everything was stalled I had to come down pretty hard on OL' Jim( Maverick didn't come here to lose) and was surprised I didn't break something.

Wow. I’ve never even come close to hitting that. Of course now that I’ve been told this, I will end up doing it. 😜

Well now that that issue has been explained...
I have never reached that far up the door.
All my previous Rangers, were manual locks.
My muscle-memory keeps me from touching that area..
Though, I still do "Elbow" the window, after pulling on the seat belt. I would hit (push down) the door lock button with my elbow... My brain hasn't caught up yet.. :ROFLMAO:

Quite large actually
When I bought my 1st Honda Accord, the salesman locked the doors then through the key fobs into the trunk and closed it. Horn beeped, doors unlocked, and the trunk popped open.
Ford needs to steal (acquire) this 2008 technology.

Kevin,
If before you get your key cut.
If you accidentally lock your driver's door because you pushed the lock lever while pushing your door open.
Check any of the other three doors they should all be unlocked.

We are going to return our 2026 XLT Maverick to Ford. The infotainment amongst other things are unfortunately god awful!
Half to time the infotainment screen crashes and goes blank, often at a critical time when we need sat nav! Ford says this is normal and to switch off the engine and open the door.
You look at the infotainment screen for a split second, and due to the too quick steering you are on the oncoming traffic lane.
When the infotainment is working the screens are impossible to navigate, and I’m very tech savvy!
When you do press a screen button you inadvertently hit the heated sears or another wrong screen button and this is on a perfectly flat road.
It’s often impossible to get to the nav screen half the time or the Spotify screen or any other screen.
Did I mention the steering is too fast, I have constantly correct it on a straight road,
My wife is in agreement to all this and doesn’t hardly touch the infotainment screen, she navigates from her phone.
I no loner have YouTube
How the hell does ford release this crap, and make the customer do all the bug testing. I would have been fired if I released crap like this!
I would welcome your feedback, thank you
Sorry to hear about your problem. There have been many software bugs and many left unexplained. Sorry you are being attacked by some on this forum but that happens alot if you mention any problems.
