Does anyone else's thermal exhaust hang really low in the back?

I feel like mine could be a little closer to the differential in the back. I don't know if rotating the mid pipe section would help. I've been waiting for it to warm up by me to give it a try.

My lobo is lowered and the exhaust hits way too often. I'm thinking along the same line as you are.

How close is the section to the driveshaft (assuming its AWD). I positioned mine about 1/2" clearance. I also rotated everything slightly for more clearance.

It is AWD, it's about an inch. I'm about to crawl under for the 3rd day in a row lol. Ramps only get it so high tho

I finally got the weather today to swap out my AFE Rebel Side Exit for my new Thermal. Install went OK, just a lot of fiddling with adjustments. I've never installed a cat-back (and I've installed a bunch of them over the years) that just butted the pipes and used band clamps for assembly, all the other ones have used slip fittings. One word of advice to anyone doing this in the future: order a 2-1/2" ID to 2-1/2" OD band clamp for the front connection; I didn't get a perfectly square cut when I cut the pipe from the cat and I couldn't get that joint to seal properly. Luckily I had an Evil Energy one left over from another project that worked perfectly. I also ran it as close to the rear diff as possible, so I had to "dimple" the pipe in one spot where it was very close to one of the bolts on the RDU.
This setup sounds very good, a little loud at startup, but chills out once up to temp, and quieter than the Rebel all the time. We'll be taking it on a little trip tomorrow for Easter and we'll see how it is, then I'll roll it back up onto the ramps and hit all the connections again.
All in all, a very nice sytem with the sound I was looking for, in spite of the questionable butt joints.

The final section goes ...inside... the section ahead of it?

Please do let us know when you get the updated version installed. At 82mph on the interstate for 4 1/2 hrs it was starting to get a bit loud in my ears. If I can trade out the dual tip for one with a resonator that would be great.
So I received the tail section yesterday and installed it about 10 minutes. Zero drone in the cab but still a nice sound outside.
I highly recommend this setup.
Sent the old tail pipe back this morning.
You only pay for shipping. This is a great team to deal with.

I don't think any aftermarket exhaust for the maverick sounds good alone for the record but I wanted more flow for a future turbo upgrade so this was my long road. I started with 3" Stainless Works Downpipe and 3" MBRP Armor Pro Catback. I felt it was to loud for daily driving. I started by adding MBRP universal 16" length 4" round body resonator just before the MBRP muffler. MBRP resonator has steel wool packing just like the muffler. It helped but not as much as I liked. I then added a Universal Borla 10" length 5" round body resonator Just after the downpipe. Borla is fiberglass packing. It made it much better but wanted a little more so I changed out the 4 inch exhaust tip for a 3.5 inch tip. With all 3 changes I have hit the sweet spot for daily driving. Nice low rubble at idle and very little drone in the cab. I made sure to keep everything to 3" ID piping so it doesn't restrict flow. For long road trips I ordered Stainless works 24" perforated exhaust insert to act as a silencer and neck it down to 2.5" exhaust to quiet it down some more but that only gets used on long trips of 3+ hours or more. I just slip it into the tailpipe and drilled a small hole to secure it in place with a bolt. With all that I can barely tell I have a full exhaust on the truck unless I hit a really steep hill or floor it. Hope the info helps and good luck on hitting the sweet spot for you.
Borla Pro XS series! Sounds good enough

So you had the kit from when the tail section was just a simple pipe right? And now you have the tail section with the resonator (and still the original middle chamber section). The person I originally talked to thought the middle section chamber had also been redesigned, but if you have the new tail section with everything else from the original kit and it removed the in cabin drone, that's encouraging :)

It is a lot quieter than the factory pipe but outside it still turns heads when you hit the gas.
I have always purchased Borla but nobody ever gave a definitive cabin "noise level" estimate.
I can hear three conversations at once in a store from three aisle over so my hearing is very touchy 😁

If I want a little different sound I would go with that Borla Muffler or the MagnaFlow although the Borla is cheaper at Summit Racing that's 30 minutes from My House.Although maybe it would be to loud compared to the stock Muffler. Is Your Maverick Tremor a 2024?
