Do you have the original design with the single resonator chamber, or the newer one with two? I have the original with the turndown and I get a pretty good drone at part throttle between 1650 and 1950 rpm. It's not terrible, but my wife doesn't like it lol. No issues otherwise.
As far as i know, mine only has the one. I purchased it in January, the worst is around 3800 for me, doesn't bother me one bit honestly

Anyone besides me thinks the Thermal R&D system is a little loud for in town driving? What are you thoughts? Would the single turn down seem quieter than the side exit?
I have it on my 23 Tremor which is my daily driver and it's not that loud for daily driving...

I daily drove a fairly modified mid 80s Ford product with a 302 for years. Made almost 400 to the tire all motor and it was LOUD. I still have the car, but it's a weekend toy now. The exhaust clips I hear on these trucks are rather tame TBH.

I really wish Nameless Performance would produce a kit for these trucks.

I’m getting used to it. I think I was more worried about it since it’s my wife’s daily driver. She doesn’t mind it too much. I still don’t like the drone at low rpm’s, like when going through a parking lot. But it is what it is

I have the muffler with the resonator on the tailpipe section with dual tip side exit. A little drone right after taking off at at about the rpm that you mentioned but quickly disappears
So just to confirm, it sounds like yours is the updated version with the additional resonator? I also have the original version and like a few others, it’s a bit much at lower RPMs. I reached out to Thermal support and they do have a trade-in program to get the updated rear section…but I’m not sure if the additional resonator helps?

That’s it. I wish that I had experience with the older one to compare. It’s nice on the highway though. Just a little rumble when you accelerate and no drone.

if you get a chance to look I’d be curious to know if your tail pipe section is like this or just a straight pipe like mine. Just comparing experiences :)

It's straight, only one muffler in the center, that resonator wasn't there on my install.
Just double checked, definitely not there

Thanks for checking. I talked to someone at Thermal, he said the middle resonator is now a three chamber instead of two and the extra one in the tail section is a sound absorber. They did the redesign after some feedback and decided there was still some drone at certain frequencies/rpms. I believe I’m going to do the trade in for the new design and see how it helps those specific part throttle rpm ranges I mentioned. I mostly do in town driving and the truck stays in those areas a lot. I love the sound from outside, just would like to reduce some of the in cabin resonance.

I’m considering the getting the revised rear section as well. Maybe you could let us know how it goes?

Please do let us know when you get the updated version installed. At 82mph on the interstate for 4 1/2 hrs it was starting to get a bit loud in my ears. If I can trade out the dual tip for one with a resonator that would be great.

I don't think any aftermarket exhaust for the maverick sounds good alone for the record but I wanted more flow for a future turbo upgrade so this was my long road. I started with 3" Stainless Works Downpipe and 3" MBRP Armor Pro Catback. I felt it was to loud for daily driving. I started by adding MBRP universal 16" length 4" round body resonator just before the MBRP muffler. MBRP resonator has steel wool packing just like the muffler. It helped but not as much as I liked. I then added a Universal Borla 10" length 5" round body resonator Just after the downpipe. Borla is fiberglass packing. It made it much better but wanted a little more so I changed out the 4 inch exhaust tip for a 3.5 inch tip. With all 3 changes I have hit the sweet spot for daily driving. Nice low rubble at idle and very little drone in the cab. I made sure to keep everything to 3" ID piping so it doesn't restrict flow. For long road trips I ordered Stainless works 24" perforated exhaust insert to act as a silencer and neck it down to 2.5" exhaust to quiet it down some more but that only gets used on long trips of 3+ hours or more. I just slip it into the tailpipe and drilled a small hole to secure it in place with a bolt. With all that I can barely tell I have a full exhaust on the truck unless I hit a really steep hill or floor it. Hope the info helps and good luck on hitting the sweet spot for you.

I spoke with Victor from Thermal via email. He let me know that the exchange is only for the rear section and nothing else.
