I have those. They do the job.I bought these:

to replace the factory originals as they were not compatible with the tailgate assist (on the left side). They arrive today and I will be installing them shortly thereafter.
I doubt if your previous trucks had baby beds where you HAD to use the tailgate.Question for anyone reading this. How many times have you actually needed to strap something down to the tailgate? I’ve been driving pickup trucks for over 35 years and I’ve never once needed to strap anything down and n the tailgate.
Every time I carry a sheet of plywood. "Similar" to this pic, hook on one tailgate tie down, go diagonally under to the middle, bring to the top and hook to the other tie down.Question for anyone reading this. You coated a new, nicely painted part that resides in the bed with oil? No,just coated it with oil before I put it on
The way my luck works.... if I'd removed this bracket and left it missing, THAT'S exactly when I would have needed it. I think it's like auto insurance. Although I haven't had a claim in decades, I'm still going to make sure I have it for when I DO need it.How many times have you actually needed to strap something down to the tailgate? i use it fairly often. There are many things I have transported that are slightly longer than the bed that I put the tailgate in the open tilt position and strap items to the tailgate anchors.Question for anyone reading this. Yes, every year one coat of oil on every part of the truck I can get at . ie: trailer hitch, fender screws inside bottom of doors, inside bottom of tailgate, etc. Keeps truck looking brand new( no rust) They use lots of salt on the roads where I live. Last fall the 12 year old Dodge ram I traded in for the new Mav still looked brand new . Some one bought it from the dealer within one weekYou coated a new, nicely painted part that resides in the bed with oil?

I'd think that would attract every piece of dirt in 2 counties.Yes, every year one coat of oil on every part of the truck I can get at . ie: trailer hitch, fender screws inside bottom of doors, inside bottom of tailgate, etc. Keeps truck looking brand new( no rust) They use lots of salt on the roads where I live. I know they'll hold up and do their job, but the quality of the welds could be better!
