If I drove 12,000 miles a year - I would save about $1,600 per year in gas money. That is enough to pay my insurance, oil changes, and maybe 2 tires.

Luckily, I only drive about 2,000 miles a year and end up spending about $250 extra in gas. I can live with that. If I had to spend $1,000 extra per year in gas to drive an EB - I’d seriously consider a Hybrid!
Yeah , I was extolling the virtues of my hybrid to someone and they asked "so It saves you a bunch of money". I had to say "hell no! Between insurance and state fees I would have been far ahead just driving my Range"r. But then I wouldn't be saving the world!

Give me a 35 MPH road that lasts forever and my hybrid will return 60 miles per gallon of gas. All day long.

What will the 2.0 EcoBoost Maverick do in this situation?

This was a less than ideal drive with a few stoplights and a few stop signs.

But I get close to 60 MPG every day. AFE set to 950/1000. (5% correction down)

I love my Hybrid, but we don't want to be these guys!

Edit - PS, I hope posting this video does not (seriously) offend anyone or break any forum lMEDIA]
I go the flow of traffic. Always.
I choose the most efficient routes when there are multiple routes. My 42 mile route saves gas vs. my 39 mile route.

It's a game. Sure.
But why have games at all?
Because it's fun. Pleasurable. Interesting. Keeps me focused. Not bored.

I'm currently driving 18,000 miles a year.
Saving fuel, and a lot of it, makes sense to me.

I get off on 31 mpg at 85mph in my 24 Ecoboost. I shit you not ! Try that in any other pick up with the aerodynamics of a brick.

Cant wait to see Fords new EV platform.

So far gas is cheap and I can still afford to burn all I want to. But I will re visit the Hybrid option in 2029 when I buy my next Maverick.

I'm not in city traffic hardly ever so I won’t get the fantastic mpg’s of the Mavbrid.

At 67 I know now I’ll never ā€˜grow up’
I still get off on the feel of my Turbo.
Zoom Zoom !
Oh wait, that’s Mazda :’P
Anyone remember that ?

I’ll never figure out how to get my Flux Capacitor to work in this Ecoboost.

If I didn't have anything to tow, I would have bought a hybrid. I know you can get a hybrid with 4k tow now, but at the time I got my Maverick that was not the case.

Best I’ve gotten in my ecoboost 2023 XL is 5.6L/100km and a range of right around 1000km.

This is the true mpg warrior! All that while getting constant compliments about how good the car looked. Unfortunately sold it after picking up the lobo. I had it for 10 years and just over 100,000 miles. It will be tearing up the asphalt on little fuel for another decade.

Well I COULD drive 35 MPH or less all the time but why would I. MPG games are fun but the threads on this forums pitting Mavbrid (thanks @Cherokee ) against EBs reminds me of the old Skippy dog food jingle. "My Mavs better than your Mav." I have said this before and I will repeat. When I need gas I buy it and when I don't need it I pass by the stations. If the dash MPG is off I don't care. If I can get an extra 1 MPG by using ASS I still WON'T use it, if I can hyper mile by shifting to N and coasting I won't. Hopefully everyone bought the version Maverick best suited to them and only them.

If everybody that didn't need a big ass pickup (or SUV) getting MPG in the teens bought either Maverick it would go a long way to lowering US energy use and help reduce pollution!

Big vehicles that accelerate slow: could be made to use little fuel.

Small vehicles that accelerate fast: could be made to use little fuel.

Big vehicles that accelerate fast: a losing scenario.
