Horses for courses. I quite like my no button smart phone. I wouldn't swap it for an old 1G mobile phone with buttons.
They give you Ford connected services free on purchase. You get 3 years of Alexa, 1 year of connected navigation, and 1 year of premium connectivity.

Navigation goes to $80/yr after the trial period ends. Navigation has an awesome weather map that is much better than MyRadar (free) on CarPlay but RadarScope keeps promising they are going to be CarPlay available soon.

With CarPlay as good as it is I won't purchase any of the connected services.

People really making too big of a deal out of the buttons when they are mounting their phones to f*ck with while they are driving - when those don't have buttons either.
Are we really comparing modern phones to physical controls in a moving vehicle?

And not everyone "fucks with their phones while driving" just because it's mounted in an easily accessible place that is safer than it sliding around on a wireless heating pad. And I'd gladly take a sidekick style keyboard over trying to mess with autocorrect now days.

I'll tell you what, you guys enable and disable something like fog lights (numerous manufactures have put lighting controls in their screens now and I'm only using it as an example) while driving on your screens and I'll use a physical button that doesn't require navigating a menu or having to steady my hand or even take my eyes off the road AT ALL to make sure I press the correct button and see who's able to manipulate controls easier, k?

Apples to oranges and you two should know better. The misdirection was laughable though. C'mon guys. Try harder.

No - you should try reading what member says before bleating off on a rant. "Horses for courses" in my Post means different people prefer/like different things. Some people want physical A/C knobs; others aren't fussed with a touch screen. It's all a matter of personal choice.

I've found that virtual controls are hard to hit when driving on rough surfaces, and sometimes you can touch the wrong button which then has to be reversed. The lack of tactile feedback means you have to take your eyes off the road a bit longer. If the control you need is buried behind a master menu, the problem gets exponentially worse. If time is of the essence, those few extra seconds in controlling some feature like the defroster or volume control add to this.
While we're on a rant about controls, I really miss the flexibility present in older cars that used a "DIN slot" or double-DIN for the radio. Upgrading your audio was soooo simple and easy. Now that it's integrated into the system, you are stuck!

Thank you captain obvious, but most peoples choice is clearly not in favor of the changes.

And my statement stands unrefuted. Maybe take your own advice and read the majority of feedback not just on these forums but literally everywhere on this topic when it comes up. It's a cost cutting move and consumers dislike it.

I think you don’t understand most people aren’t on forums. But it’s the same argument with the front end look, if you don’t like it don’t buy it. For most getting the truck once they become familiar with the layout of the screen they will be unbothered by these changes.

I realized the amount of buttons needed to control everything in a modern vehicle would be insane but then I would start bitching about to many buttons which is why we have screens.

Lets do it like the French and just have buttons and switches for everything!! Then all you old timers would start bitching about to many buttons and switches. LOL

The 2024 INEOS Grenadier has so many buttons and switches that it is starting to look like an airplane cockpit and it still has a touch screen. haha

What a beautiful layout.

Making the assumption that I don't understand negative bias tells me you didn't comprehend what was said.

It's not one forum/site. It's not one brand.
