Hybrid 12V Battery In Sleep Mode

Hello, Today I got my 2024 Maverick Hybrid Lariat back from my Ford dealer. I had the truck in about four months ago for the "sleep mode" problem. They charged the battery and that worked for about three month. The issue got worse so I went back to the dealer with the same issue. After several days testing they decided to replace factory 12 volt battery with a AGM battery. I have attached the tech comments for you to read. If you are having sleep mode issues, there is a fix. Hope this is last time having the battery go to sleep!!!

Great find. That's a new one.

Since not all with slowly sulfating batteries have a parasitic draw - may not be the end all be all.
But at least it's another thing to check.

Disconnecting that also stops the feed to the BdyCM fuse box in passenger footwell - so gotta do things in proper order as the tech did.

But what an easy test.

Well - as long as you put the fuses back correctly.

You should encourage that dealership to have that tech submit his solution to Ford, if it doesn't automatically.

At least it's not going up as a "bad battery warranty replacement" work order.

Good for you Jim, I hope that takes care of the issue. Unfortunately that will not be a universal fix for many owners. My 24 hybrid spent around six weeks in service before Ford bought it back after 8k miles. No parasitic draw was ever detected and no solution was ever developed despite all of the updates and three battery swaps.

I think we have a battery sensor problem.

Hope these issues are, or have been resolved on the 2026 models. I'll be getting one this summer and would not want to deal with this battery issue. Bad enough that the 2023 model I temporarily use (company vehicle) has this similar issue BUT not totally bad yet. It's just in sleep mode long enough that the dome lights no longer come on at night. A bitch sometimes fumbling around in the dark when you first enter the car.

Bad news for you Tim. I've had my 25 hybrid since October and the 12v battery issues have not gone away. The SOC tends to hang out anywhere from around 30-40%. There is seemingly no end in sight.
