From reports of those with no problems - closer to 2 hrs of driving daily does indeed keep the battery up to stop the battery saver actions.
So drive more is a proper solution - just a tad ridiculous for time though.

79% is great actually, but normally it would go to float charge at 80%, but not in your case perhaps.

So the SOC has to be a calculated value, as it's not based purely on Voltage, as that also is an inaccurate figure within 2-4 hrs of charging, and certainly so while charging.
How many Amps was reported on the 12V line by the end of that 5 hrs?

I'd be curious for another only 15 min test, no need for hours. If you can find the BdyCM PID for 12V Current Amps.
What's the reading at the end of 15 min, with V and SOC%?

I'd also be curious where that 91% Ford scale SOC ended up the next morning after a BMS relearn overnight, if that was the night it was going to do it anyway?
Or upon the drive the next day, where was the SOC?

I've seen posted by 1 other SC3 user, a morning start up in 90%'s after a battery recharge - and upon driving it took nosedove to more normal below 85%.
So here are the answers to your questions.
After 5 hours in "ready mode" voltage came down a bit to 14.8 and current was .5 amps.
I did not do a BMS reset, but a BMS relearn, since after it stopped charging and drawing out of the battery, I would not have a good indication of fully charged battery.
The next day after sitting with the doors locked over night, my SOC was 89%.
Drove to work, 15 minute drive, the SOC was up to 90%.
I will use this as a new benchmark to see where it stabilizes at.

Had a O sh*t moment last night, I was just getting to leaving menards, and my screen froze, shut off the truck, waited a minute, and turn the key back on, and everything was fine.
Drove 100ft, and all of a sudden the engine raced for a second.
You can see it revved to over 3600 rpms for a second.
This is the first time this has happened.
Going to see if it shows a fault today.

What are odds the battery relearn woke up the computer and it decided to relearn all the sensors and how they all work together. (= It's a new truck!)

it finally happened to me yesterday. Got a deep sleep message. However, I was still able to start the car without jumping it. Just remote start did not work nor the lights being turned on when opening the door.

You just got the seep mode message, all it does is turn off things to preserve the battery.
It did what it was suppose to do, that is why you were able to start the truck.
I have read there is another current draw that will drain the battery to dead, but you didn't have it.

Take it back.

Dealer may have let it sit on lot too long without a charge up, after an already lengthy ride to the lot.

Or the prep guys didn't get a door closed for way too long with cabin light on.

Or just happened to get the bad battery on the shelf - it can happen.

Not isolated - but 25MY that comes with AGM battery seems to have less issues.
For now - also hasn't been long enough frankly.

Dealer should charge it up - and then do a test to confirm it can hold the charge, and handle a load. Then charge it up again.

After you get it back, make sure that night you leave it locked for 10 hrs.
It's in your manual under Maintenance.

Anyone else have a Battery Saver Mode unexpectedly on Christmas day? Must have been a “Merry Christmas” from Ford.🤬
I've been having this issue intermittently for the past year. Having to charge the truck with a tender every week. I brought it in this morning to the dealer for an oil change and mentioned the battery issue.

My battery failed and they replaced with new under warranty. Tried to blame my dashcam which has no parking mode and is connected to a switched fuse 😒.

Anyway I got home and checked the battery and they put in an AGM. So I'm hoping this fixes the issue but I've read otherwise. I'm in Canada and they did not update the software to latest SSM for AC. They told me that's a USA only SSM 🙄

I had the a/c SSM done and I'm in Canada. Your dealer is messing up.

I checked out that other thread, Im sure glad I have had 39 months of trouble free operation. I am hoping this is just a dead battery, and not the new normal. I am not looking to turn this situation into a hobby. I did buy the extended warranty a few months ago once I decided to keep it.
Get a new battery. Just write down the dimensions of your battery and look for an AGM with the same dimensions (negative and positive posts should be on top). You have had 3 years on your original non-AGM battery. Thats better than most of us! Your system seems to be charging good. Trying to charge up a 3 year old flooded battery that died on you may leave you stranded at the most horrible time

AGM's run from $179 on up. Easy to install. Then you are back on the road in confidence.

Thats basically my plan, im not trying to avoid buying a battery, 39 months is perfectly acceptable for a 12v battery. I'm trying to diagnose the issue apporriately; knowing that many have had these issues makes me want to make sure the battery is the problem before I swap it out. I charged it up, my charger can and has detected a bad battery before, but not a weak battery. It did charge up quickly. If I have another saver mode I am going to pull the battery, charge it up again and then have it load tested expecting it to be confirmed as bad. I will probably buy a Walmart H4 agm for $189, it comes with a 4 year warranty and I have had pretty good luck with Walmart batteries and the prices are usually pretty good, and you cant beat the availability. Meanwhile I will carry my jump pack with me, and Im not going anywhere soon either so its just running around town.

Interestingly my daughter had a beater 2008 Escape hybrid about 5 years ago and they had similar issues, in fact they was a button you could push that would allow the high voltage battery to charge up the 12v battery. Kind of a forward assist, , that would be nice to have, actually it would be nice if it was integrated into the system automatically. Im not an engineer but I dont know why they need a 12v battery system at all, why cant it do everything off the High Voltage battery, it seems like that would be a cleaner design.

Not isolated, as even Ford (without taking responsibility) recognises it.

But also not a given that you will experience it. Many don’t. Depends on a number of factors such as your build, driving habits, climate, etc.

No matter what, get a decent jumper to throw under the backseat - NOCOs are fantastic. I think all car owners should do this to avoid the classic walking around a parking lot looking for a friendly dude willing to jump.

Bonus if you also get a battery tender (again - NOCOs are great here too) if you ever let the truck sit for a week or more. You may find, like me, that once it’s hooked up in your garage and sitting there - you end up throwing it on the tender more often. No harm at all in that.

That said, my suggestion for all hybrid owners is to put an AGM battery in to replace the factory one ASAP. Most of the time, that makes the issue non-impactful (no dead battery). Even if you fix a non-existent issue, you won’t ever regret having a better battery.

My last suggestion is that, unless you really like the connectivity stuff, turn it off. It can cause drain. I find, like many people, that I like the idea of remote start and using the application - but never end up actually remembering to use it or find it that useful. That said, if you do really use that stuff - ignore this.

I charged my battery, did the reset in the owners manual, and haven't had anymore issues. Went outside last night and my lights were all on, I urned them off. I am wondering if my whole problem was leaving the lights on? I had shit them off manually and then turned them back on, I dont do that much, but it could have been what happened.

That’s most likely what happened. Often the easiest answer is the correct answer.

i wouldn’t stress about the issue returning. An AGM should do the job.

Planning on posting a new thread soon with my week’s worth of voltage readings that I’ve done to show my drain is “gone” now - and describe what I did. Spoiler - AGM and turn off connectivity.

And stop shitting them off, for the love of God. Terrible idea. 😆

I have the 2023 XLT Hybrid, not sure if yours is the same, from the owners manual:

SWITCHING HEADLAMP EXIT
DELAY ON AND OFF
To switch headlamp exit delay on, pull the
turn signal lever toward you after switching
your vehicle off.
To switch headlamp exit delay off, pull the
turn signal lever toward you again or switch
your vehicle on.

Note: The headlamps turn off after three
minutes with any door open or 30 seconds
after the last door closes

Personally glad I bought a hybrid and would likely have not even bought a Maverick if no hybrid option.
If I could not have an Ecoboost I’d not own a Maverick.
We all have different wants and needs.
