On a little road trip with the family and decided it’s about to time to take our little Tremor up a notch. Well we did…

Ended up checking out the sand flats and all the Moab has to offer and let me tell you it did not disappoint. We ended up doing Fins and Things trail which was a 4/10 on OnX but even the comments there say it’s more of a 5/6. It’s true. We had to go down some 45° steps and the Tremor killed it!

Some Broncos came by and we let them pass but eventually we caught up and they were so impressed that they got out of theit rigs to watch! I felt like Rudy in this moment 😂 but it was awesome. They were kind enough to spot me and we finished the trail together.

All in all the truck did amazing. The rear locker is a game changer and the truck can keep up with its big brother broncos (to an extent haha). Its biggest limitation is the departure but with some creative lines I got through with a minor rash on the bum.

photos and videos don’t do it justice but I’ll post what little I have.

Awesome post man! Moab is an amazing place to spend time. More proof that it’s not always what you drive, but how you drive it. There’s a guy that goes out there and does some crazy stuff in a stock Ford Crown Victoria, just having a blast.
I used to take my Jeep out there, but the Bastard has gotten to where it breaks down every time I dare to look at it.Hoping to head out there for some camping in a few months after rotator cuff heals up.

MyBrother used to off road a 65 Galaxie. Damn thing was nearly unstoppable. I have a friend who has a 24 Wrangler 4XE that will likely never go off road. In 25K miles he's had 2 transmissions, death wobble, blown shocks twice, and is waiting for an engine recall. Jeeps were not known for reliability in many decades.

I assume this Fins and Things place has at least one creek/swampy water feature?

In the 70's the USFS used Ford LTD's with all terrain tires on the back and skid plates installed up front. Never saw one stuck. Forest service and logging roads were pretty gnarly. Sometimes just little more than a goat trail.

The Bastard certainly looks capable! Rotator cuffs are rough, the first time. The second one wasn't too bad. Take care and do all the rehab exercises, even after you heal.

Looks really fun. I've considered doing something similar, but it's always stressful to take a brand new vehicle over stuff like that. It seems to me like a smaller and shorter rear bumper would help departure angle quite a bit, which is really the main limitation besides ground clearance. You can always just pick a more angled path though...

Great getting out there. Knowing what your vehicle can and can't do is a big plus. Take it slow, enjoy the scenery and the driving challenge, and if you get in trouble, call Rory at Trailmater.

You couldn't do that without the Tremor's front ramp angle.

Not without a lift and 245/65/17s - Wish that bumper valance could retro fit on older FX4s+4K Tow somehow-
