Escape has outsold the Maverick every calendar year prior to 2025. I'm not putting down the Maverick, as I drive one myself. Just that the Escape has been very popular even with the Bronco Sport around.

Ford did the same thing to the Escape that they do to every model they plan to discontinue - they make zero updates to it.

We have a 23 Maverick hybrid, and a 24 Escape hybrid. I prefer the Maverick for ease of entry and greater cargo space, but they get very similar gas mileage. As a bonus, Ford was offering huge incentives on all Escapes, including the hybrid, to clear out the 2024's.

I have heard that in Ford’s infinite wisdom they are dropping the Escape and Lincoln Corsair models in the near future. They are supposed to be replaced by a small EV SUV(rumor). I was told that the Maverick was built on the Escape platform. My Corsair Weather Techs fit perfect in my 2024 Maverick Lariat. If this is true what will be the future of the Maverick?
Like all business decisions, as long as there's a strong market for the Mavericks, Ford will keep building them with slight upgrades every few years until there's a reason to come up with something new. That's how we went from station wagons, to mini vans, to Suv's, crossovers, to hybrids etc.

My wife loves her 2020 Escape Titanium; I am happy with my Maverick. I do wish I had my wife's Escape paddle shifters on my Maverick.

Maverick has no competition (except Tacoma, which is way more expensive) in the small truck market. Ford will ride it as long as it lasts.

Did not know that. 4 inches is a big deal.
I don’t ride in back seats much.
We have a '24 Escape that has the same drive train as my Maverick (2.0 EB) with the same tow package. I have ridden in the back seat of both and that 4" is a very noticeable comfort when fit is concerned. You wouldn't think so, but it is.

Wife drives, loves her 17 Escape Titanium. Told her Ford plans to drop the Escape, and if they do, what alternative would she consider, like. She commented many gal friends have Subaru. Because of her knees, not gonna consider any high stepping vehicle, like a Bronco.
My girlfriend loves her 2013 Escape with 262,000+ miles and counting on it. She's looking at new Mazda CX5s as a potential next vehicle. Tricky part is she prefers cloth seats but that has been tough to hunt down. Although they do exist...somewhere lol

Locally, see lots of Escapes. They are popular.

I've argued the Bronco Sport is what the Escape should have become as the 2008 Escape looks more like the Bronco Sport than the current Escape.

That said, Maverick is going anywhere. Escape's problem is every car manufacturer has a model that looks exactly like it. For what it is nowadays, it's a bit underwhelming.

The Maverick should be fine as they're made in separate factories and share a platform for the Bronco Sport, both of which sell very well for Ford.

Personally, I am not happy with Ford killing both the Escape and Edge, both vehicles I was considering replacing my Fusion commuter with when it kicks the bucket. However, it seems Ford wants to force people to choose between the under-equipped Bronco or spend $50,000+ on a much larger Explorer.

I know some people say the Bronco Sport is replacing it but it doesn't have key features I want in an SUV like a power liftgate, a hybrid option, rain sensing wiper, auto dimming mirrors and A/C seats. Plus I would really like a Made In the USA Ford the next time around to be frank. I am open to a potential electric SUV replacement for the Escape but I feel its either going to lack range, be very expensive or miss features I want to keep a price point.

I might trade in my Fusion after paying off my Maverick in 2 years so I can snag a certified pre-owned Escape or Edge before they disappear too.

You could always get the Electric Escape (aka Mustang Mach E).

I am considering a certified pre-owned model with the extended range battery, as its what I am looking for in size/features but I would have to be sure its compatible with the Tesla charging stations before buying. Plus again, if I buy another Ford, I would prefer getting one that made here in the USA. I wasn't too thrilled that my Fusion and Maverick came from Mexico, even though they're nice great vehicle.

I think you need to get an adapter for the Tesla chargers. But my understanding is Ford sells them.

That's what I heard too, I am probably going to see if I can get a few more years out of the Fusion and look at them along with a few other options.

Bronco Sport has unique, "fun" box shape vs. Escape looks bland and generic; Like it could be any brand.
