Coming up on 8 months in my 2025 Lariat hybrid - was mildly startled first time I accelerated to pass and it reminded me of when I was a kid on an old Ski-Doo single lunger....rev up to one speed and she would go faster and faster until I let off only a lot quieter. I quickly got used to it and have been enjoying the Maverick immensely. Great utility, comfortable seats and position adjustment ( I am 5'10" 280lbs, husky build) get all kinds of compliments about the Eruption Green paint.

I have had two Broncos and an Explorer with a 2.3L Ecoboost and the engine was amazing. Last 2.0L EB was a 2021 Lincoln Corsair and she scooted along quite well too.

Color me satisfied!!

My sentiments exactly. Love the Lariat version of the hybrid. I was lucky to get any Maverick back in 2022, but getting the Lariat was a big win. Heated seats, ACC, heated steering wheel, B&O sound, sunroof, heated mirrors, better tires, spray in bed liner, power rear window, etc . . . at my age . . . why not?

I've been at 152 mph. Fun. 1,000 mph, now that would be really fun. Not sure these Mavericks have the brakes for that though! Hahaha. Scottjl, just had the case of "fat fingers". I do that myself quite frequently.
152 mph! Yikes!
My speedometer only goes to 140. How did you know you were doing 152 other than wetting yourself?

That's one thing I do like about the eCVT, holding the throttle in position and experimenting with the rate of acceleration.

One year ago yesterday, I parted ways with my 2010 Benz E550 (400hp V8) due to my current abundance of short trips.

I had seen a Maverick at the OC Auto Show in Anaheim and liked everything about it — and Ford had an offer to get $75 (?) for doing a test drive. Since I love free money, I was hooked lol.

Utility, size, mileage, looks, and modern tech. It reminded me of a GTI in a small truck. (My first new car was a first-gen GTI.) I loved the Cactus Gray and since they had the backup camera recall (new XL and XLT sales were on hold) — I ultimately went with the Lariat for the B&O, rear window, and other goodies.

So now I can reflect back on a great year of Mav Hybrid ownership. Just did the 10k service and all fine of course.

Did road trips to NorCal, Baja, and many points between. The craziest thing is consistently getting 500 miles per tank — that’s a ton of around-town trips!

Loves:
-I always have the “brake hold” on since my Benz had it — that was a must-have!
-Added a USB dongle to support Wireless CarPlay which works great.
-Adaptive CC and lane keep is great on those long stretches and helps me avoid big speeding tickets lol. (Adaptive does work best in Economy mode for softer - smoother acceleration.)
-Small enough to fit through traffic and obstacles that a Cowboy Cadillac never would lol.
- I also had to have a Sunroof — having all 6 windows wide open is awesome with my young son and his buddies. It still has huge hedroom — what a great design.
-Heated steering wheel — sure why not ha.
- Tow hitch and basic connector is awesome — used a couple times.
-Blackout package is sweet and stealthy
- Black vinyl interior looks great and only an issue on 90* days. The AC cooks the small interior fast — just like my old 911 ha.
-Driving electric mode in the neighborhood and parking lots
-Added matching tint on the fr

For whatever reason the forum software lost some of my notes and pics but you get the idea ha.

About the same experience for me except I don't like that e-brake. No more Bat turns in the snow.

My Lariat seats are absolute perfection IMHO
I'm a tad shorter and heavier. 5'10" 175 lbs. The seats are fine for me as well. I guess seat comfort is subjective. What's comfortable for one is uncomfortable for another.

I have had my Lariat Hybrid now for 8 months and 25,000 km. I have driven from coast to coast and back. The sound of the engine to my ears is not louder more than different.

With the hybrid, the engine under software control, increases speed until it produces enough power for the current driving conditions. There are no gear changes so the engine RPM remains constant. Some call this a drone, I personally do not have a problem with this, as I understand why. Some reviewers especially TFL make a big deal of this. More of a tempest in a teapot from my point of view.

BP
Well TFL was towing a nearly 4,000 pound load up a long. Steep, incline during basically a torture test. So they put it under the most strenuous conditions. In all reality, the EcoBoost would probably sound similar because it likely wouldn't get a above 5th gear under those conditions. I doubt if the average person will replicate that type of driving. But yes, it's a tempest in a teapot in my opinion too

To be honest I've heard / read reviewers talking about this...and I scratch my head. I ordered mine (pre-production) & bought one of the 1st "2022 First Edition Lariat" Hybrid Mav's and to this day could not be happier! I lived in SoCal when it was finally delivered, so I have a lot of freeway driving at both higher (California!) "SPEEDS" & crawling thru miles of stop & go traffic. Now to be honest I'm not a muscle car guy: although, I'm former USMC "Airwing" & am comfortable with extremely loud engines, I want a comfortable drive and I have never noticed the engine sound to be a problem. However, I have noticed what I assume is the Re-Gen Noice, especially when coming down from higher speeds. I've done many mountain drives in the Sierra Nevada when I was in CA. I now live in ID and do a lot more exploring thru mountains, dirt & snowy roads. Driven a couple of time to Tacoma WA during a winter storm advisory thru the mountains and had a wonderful experience. Maybe b/c my Mav has the Acoustic front windshield & the B&O stereo system I just don't notice it... :)
You probably drive like someone with some sense. Sometimes, I don't. To be honest, sometimes I do it on purpose when I make this one specific turn into a specific road up a fairly steep hill. I sometimes floor it just to see how fast it'll go by the top of the hill (80+) . For comparison, I had a 1971 Toyota Corolla that would get to about 45. My 1975 Celica would attain about 60. Anyway, I purposely let it drone. But in normal operation, it's only when passing on 2 lane roads or accelerating on the interstate merging into 75+ mph traffic

So much plays into sitting comfort.
Previous back injuries,
Weight,
Height,
Inseam,
Overall physical condition.
So many of us guys simply have no ass. :D
Cubicle life at work contributes to back pain and or sitting discomfort.

Once when I approached 202 pounds I started feeling uncomfortable all the time, especially when sitting.
I got a mountain bike, changed my diet, dropped 40 pounds and all was gravy again.

Way before that I did herniate L4 and L5 really bad. I healed myself, took three years,
Lots of abdominal work, obliques also.
No surgery. During that there was no sitting in any kind of chair that was comfortable.
I sat on the floor for over a year.

I’m 110% good now at 67 years young. :’P

Honestly my Maverick seats are one of the best ever, for me.
Come to think of it out of all my cars, trucks and vans I’ve never had uncomfortable seats.

The least comfortable was our 1996 Jeep Cherokee. But it was not the seats alone.
The vehicle was cramped to me.

Way to go — coming back stronger!
The Mav does have good foam in the seats — that wasn’t always the case for Ford ha.

I think the OP has a 2024 which is SYNC 3, requiring wired connections.

I have only had my 2025 Mav XL AWD 4K Tow for a few months but so far find it to be a lot of fun to drive and a very capable vehicle. My 2 nit piks; I hate the auto-stop. I turn it off ever time I get in the vehicle and will likely order a harness and disable it for all time.

Sometimes my gas door just pops open. Not every day; maybe once a week just because it feels like it. I don't see anything wrong with the door and it seems to function fine until it wants to pop open.

Other than that, really pleased with the truck.

My new Lariat hybrid was so quiet that I already got pulled over for 55 in a 40 as I had no sense of its speed cuz it's too new. :(

I dislike auto stop too.(Except for on my hybrid 😅)But I don't see the big issue with taking 1/2 second to press a button. I don't understand why people actually modify their vehicle to override it. It literally takes less than a second. to push a button once per drive cycle. I see some people do it as a reflex. Start the car, press the button, put it in gear and go. With them is all one motion
