Is it just me? Or has anyone else noticed the lack of what seemed to be daily postings about dash rattles and other noises for several weeks now? Now that most of the country is experiencing lower ambient temperatures, the noises, and consequently the posts on this forum, have ridden off into the summer sunsets. It is finally cool here in Arizona and my new to me 2024 which I bought in late May, is as quiet as a library. Completely, for the first time. The point of the post is that it appears to me most of the problems in the dash are temperature related to expanding and contracting plastics. Let's see what next May will bring, but I am contemplating installing a dash cover. I'm thinking it will add some heat and or sound insulation. It's worth a try anyway

No rattles at a little over 4000 miles on my 25 lariat. The only annoying sound just popped up in the past week. A loud squeal comes from the rear when backing up after it sitting out in the cold for a period. Guess it's just brake noise but never had that happen on a vehicle I've had over the past 30+ years.

I think most are rattle/squeak free?

Those of us who do have a creak (me) usually only have one (yay?). Either dash or windshield or the elusive back seat area - but rarely all of the above. That would suck!

My one creak is the lower left dash gap. Have crammed different shims with limited success. Purchased in the summer AZ heat this year. I’ll let you know if my creak quiets down with the cooler temps!

Found my rattle; 2025 Tremor. Used a shim between two overlapping plastic panels in the area shown in the illustration. It was surprising how much space was there.

Speaking of annoying sounds, my '23 Mav. makes a lot of clicking and clacking sounds when parked.

Bizarre...

Anyone experience similar sounds? any solution?

Thanks

It's normal. Many many threads on the subject. The solution is realizing you bought a complex electromechanical device.

I have been dealing with rattles since I put on about 1000 miles which was about 5 days after I picked up the vehicle. And that was in May of this year. As of now it did not even get very cold down here in South Texas.
The main one is from the instrument cluster and will have to take it in. Might try the above listed solution but it should not be like this. A lot of people are saying just turn up the radio but that is not a solution for me. It just drives me nuts and even it is an "inexpensive" vehicle it should not be like that.

I had the opposite effect. 2024 XL. Dash rattle started after about six months. Goes away in the summer and comes back in the winter. Doesn’t bother me anymore.

Normal. It is the sound of your battery draining.

Normal...battery drainage!

Seems like that would be an engineering anomaly to avoid, no?

The windshield defrost vent on the driver side is knocking on the blue plastic that covers it. It gets worse for me when it's cold. I don't think there's any fix short of pulling the dash.

There are definitely fewer posts about dash rattles these days. I'm guessing the build quality has improved over the years. I don't have any rattles @17K miles in my 2024.

I'm at just under 4000 miles on my '24 XLT and the dash rattles have gotten worse over the last 500 miles. It started with just the driver side but now I can hear rattles and squeaks in about 4 places all the way across the dash. As annoying as it is, taking it in to the dealer is still more annoying, so I'm waiting for something else to happen that needs the dealer (such as the battery, which just started giving me deep sleep warnings last week).

I have this vibration buzzing all day every day regardless of temperature in the cowl above the instrument cluster… see attached video with volume way up… and the young Ford mechanic said he couldn’t hear it LoL. There are several posts about it but it doesn’t appear to be a TSB yet. I am going to the dealership because it should be a TSB by now. I also attached pics of the cowl removal, but it doesn’t say what to put inside it once it’s off to stop the buzzing.

Not sure if it's the same issue, but I had a vibrating rattle in the area depicted.
It was fixed with a shim. See photo.
