Does any one else think theirs is wacky? Today I filled up with gas and the Line was right at the full mark and drove 8.1 Miles to work and the Mileage showed 25.1 MPG but the Gas Gauge showed it used an 1/8 of a tank in those little bit of miles. I have noticed it before doing the same thing it showed 1/4 tank I looked again a little later and it dropped an 1/8 of a tank like Today.

Yeah on my '25 I've noticed the gauge seems to drop faster than expected. Doesn't seem very accurate at all, so I don't even pay attention to it anymore and just look at DTE. That has been consistently accurate, so at least we have that option. Not sure why something as simple as a gas gauge was not correctly implemented 100 years after gas gauges were first introduced lol.

Just being nose up for fill, where you take the first pump in a line and your front wheels are on the pad but your back wheels aren't, and then parking level or slightly nose up will show a difference.

It's also not very quick at responding, you go up a hill, and park on the level at the top and look immediately, it might not have got back to normal and still be reading it as it was on the hill.

I haven't figured out really how linear it is yet, had one vehicle where it seemed over the full mark was first quarter, down to 3/4 was the next, 3/4 to half the third quarter, and the whole bottom half the last quarter. I don't think it's that bad, maybe even the slight inverse of that, goes quicker to half then kinda hangs for a while. Needs more watching.

I never thought about the Distance To Empty good point. And I'm not a Fan of the Gauges or the Tachometer on My 2025 Maverick. But that's about it otherwise I Love the Maverick.

When Filled up I was on pretty level ground and was on pretty level ground when I noticed it was down an 1/8 of a tank.

No. I don’t trust the gauge on the maverick at all. Like others have stated, watch your DTE. This morning the gauge said 1/4 left but DTE is just shy of 200 miles. If you’re stressing, stop at a gas station. Some say they fuel up at 1/2, I drive 100+ miles a day, I’d be at the gas station twice a day lmao.

I have done a few 1,000+ mile drives in my '25. I have come to realization that the fuel gauge is at best a rough guesstimation.

I pretty much look exclusively at the distance to empty. I'll glance at the gauge, but then immediately look at how many miles I have left. I usually fill up once it gets below 100 miles to go and generally don't let it get below 50. After two years and 13,000 miles, my DTE is pretty stable.

I'm 100% sure this is just training me for driving an EV at some point...

My gas guage seems to work just fine. I top off my tank at fill up as much as the truck will allow and drive 60+ miles to home and it usually stays on full. If I'm really in a hurry and don't fully top off and drive very fast getting home then it's usually on the first tick down. When I get down to less than 70 miles range, I start planning to head to my fill up station.

Yeah I'm not real crazy about it either... This morning I wasn't sure which to trust, so I put in 2 gallons as it was close to red. If DTE is more accurate as everyone says, I'll rely on it rather than the gauge.

DTE can be highly variable. It is based on what the mpg was for what appears to be the last 50 miles. If you switch from city driving to highway, you can watch the DTE increase as you drive. I once did an 80 mile highway trip and my DTE was higher at the end than the start. The opposite is also true;after a highway run, you'll be surprised at how fast the DTE decreases in town.

Shine a flashlight at you dash and you will discover the gas and temp gauges are not linear at all, there are 10 individual marks that light up individually.
I'll have to try that,Thanks
