Ford issued SSM 53087 for select 2022-2024 Ford Maverick hybrid models after it discovered that in those pickups, the 12-volt battery can drain intermittently. This reportedly occurs when the ignition is turned off, which can be a problem, particularly for trucks that sit for long periods of time. To rectify the problem, Ford is instructing dealers to disconnect the negative 12-volt battery terminal for five minutes, then fully charge the battery, and using either the Rotunda GRX-3590 or DCA-8000 tester, determine if a replacement isI would love to see reference to this promise to fix the deep sleep problem - lets call it undercharged battery problem.

If the dealer determines that a replacement is needed, they'll need to fully charge the new unit and perform a battery monitor sensor (BMS) reset. In the meantime, Ford is working on a software solution for this problem that's expected to be ready in Q1 2025, at which point it will inform dealers and customers.
