Deer meet truck :(

Hit a deer this morning on the way to work. I’ve included pics of the aftermath and the estimate to fix. Also not pictured is my hood that is now misaligned with a massive gap on the drivers side.

That stinks. Sorry about your truck. That kind of thing happens a lot in my neck of the woods. I hit a deer about 20 years ago with my Ram 1500 and that was around $3500 to fix, as I recall. Bumper, grill, left headlight and fender. I was doing about 60. Poor deer.

Dude, that seems pretty miraculous you got through with such relatively minor damage. I hit a deer once in the early 00s and it totaled my truck. Ever since my primary truck for deer lease, fishing, just general Texas backroads looks like this:

Bible says put on the full armor of the Lord. I take that quite literally. Deer meet Mr. Ranch Hand. Deer no longer total truck.

ouch, def sucks but I have seen multiple others on this forum with like 11k damage after hitting deer so I guess you got off kind of lucky but I’m sure you don’t feel lucky with that estimate in your hand

Yeah, I’ve been trying to be extra careful now that it’s getting colder out getting in and out with my coat on.

thankfully no airbags… fortunately State Farm is gonna cover all damages this time (comprehensive), so I just went with the highest rated in network body shop.
