Posted the same question on the Raptor forum. Wants to trade the Mav on a RR.
Only you can say if losing 8k is worth it to move to a RR. Why would you ask strangers instead of test driving one.
I have test driven them a couple of times and of course I love it. But a single half an hour test drive is not worth the experience of ownership
Isn’t that why these forums are to ask questions from strangers?

Buying that Raptor will ensure you work longer than not buying it.

I hate working.

I bought an XL when I could easily afford a Lariat. I value my free time much more than a more expensive vehicle.

I took a beating when I traded my 2023 Ford Explorer Timberline with just over 20K miles on it for my 2025 Maverick Lariat hybrid AWD....but it was my beating to take....I wanted what I wanted and made my best deal....I don't need "advice" on how to lose $$....Pretty good at it on my own.....
The Ford Explorer ST with the face-lift is my guilty pleasure haha
I don't think I have enough time left tho

The Ranger Raptor is a sweet ride, but the cost is pretty substantial for a daily driver. When the excitement wears off in a couple years, will you value it enough to justify the expense? Will 17mpg in a daily driver be acceptable, or an annoying burden?

If you just want something enjoyable to drive, could you keep the Maverick as a daily driver and spend 8-9k on a fun weekend car?

What does working have to do with it? Whether it was my XLT, the Lariat or the Tremor, I was retired, and simply wrote a check.

Not everyone's in your position. Most people buy on finance, and more payments = less savings = more time until they can retire

That's a great idea. Even a fun car is no fun if your daily commute is gridlock. But maybe OP has a fun commute, who knows?

Important things for me are the ride comfort for daily commute and rear passenger seats. The F150 is just too big. Thanks for the advice.
Then no, the Ranger Raptor is absolutely not worth it for you. Not in daily ride comfort or rear seat passenger space.

The Ranger Raptor is AWESOME but the cheapest one around me is going for $55k. Adding the loss of value from your Tremor to the difference in price with the Ranger is going to be in excess of $20k, plus a big drop in efficiency with an increased cost of ownership.

That's a huge difference to me and many folks. While I love the RRaptor and would love driving one I'd park that $21k in a high yield savings account, CDs, ibonds, dividend stocks, etc and watch it grow while enjoying my Maverick Tremor.

I think it’s about retirement - not working. Surfstar said they could have bought a more expensive vehicle but wants to save $$ in order retire sooner rather than later. Smart,

Retired - Like you & me:)

I drive a 3 month old 25 Maverick Tremor with less than 4K miles and want to trade up to the Ranger Raptor for several reasons. But the Maverick will lose almost 8-9 k from its purchase price in the trade. 43k after tax to 34k from carvana offer.
Is the Raptor truly that much worth it to justify the loss, if simply bought for the pleasure of driving and realizing that life is short. Important things for me are the ride comfort for daily commute and rear passenger seats. The F150 is just too big. Thanks for the advice.
I just sold my other car, a 2023 Audi, on Carmax. They offered me $5,000 more than Carvana. I did everything online and was in the store for a ½ hour. They even gave me a free Uber home. Give them a shot.

Unlike the Maverick, the Ranger has competition from Chevy, GMC, Toyota, and Nissan. Just trying to save the OP from from not considering all the choices. Life is short.
Actually the RR doesn't have any competition in the segment. None of the others has 4A.

Isn’t that why these forums are to ask questions from strangers?
Yes that's what forums are for, to ask stranger questions, but your question isn't the type to ask on a forum. It's very personal in nature.

No one knows your situation to be able to answer it.
