I love ACC and wouldn't have bought my mav without it. I agree sometimes on open highway it can be a blessing and a curse. But in traffic, especially low speed crawling traffic, it's awesome.

Tim, your points are all valid, but allow me to put my imaginary Ford Executive hat on and reply. In this forum and many others, all we hear and read is that the Maverick is no longer a $20k vehicle or $25k vehicle and on and on. Then add the monster in the room, meaning tariffs as it is built in Mexico, and I can easily see the argument being made in a boardroom meeting for MY26 that "we need to cut standard equipment and included options on lower trim levels to make the numbers work". Just my opinion and not saying I agree with that strategy but it could be what is happening. Love my 25 Lariat Hybrid. Thanks for all you do, Tim.

The "keep your hands on the wheel" message is very annoying even when you have your hands firmly gripping the wheel at 10 and 2; however, a pinky at the bottom of the wheel and an occasional twitch will avoid the message. Seems to me that if the cameras can detect a straight road, an input on the wheel by the driver should not be expected and the message could be suppressed.

The two biggest disappointments with my 2025 XLT Eruption Green are the lack of adaptive cruise control and interior color options. Just couldn't afford an upgrade to a Lariat. Other than that, I love everything else about it.

If I did a lot of freeway miles out of the city I could see wanting ACC, but given that I hardly use CC in the first place, I’d rather not pay for ACC. I’m all for options though, heck even let XL people get it if they want.

Agree. Coming from an F-150 I miss not being able to see which gear I'm in as well.
Perhaps, you have just not gotten used to the indicator being both on the console and the dash. It actually is there in your Lariat, I don't"t know about the paddle shifter on the Lobo. My wife's Miata will give a digital gear number on the dash when you use the paddles.

HOMELINK? Maverick is the only vehicle that I can think of that no matter what model you order, there's none that get's HOMELINK! We love the size of the Maverick, because it fits a nomal size garage, that's why I bought a Maverick truck.

How is that different than Bronco Sport. It's made at the same plant and get it includes ACC.
because the bronco sport has competition and the maverick -especially the maverick hybrid- does not.

by including ACC only in the lariat (and Lobo 702, and Tremor), Ford most definitely is capturing sales that could have been met a buyer's needs for ACC with an XLT or XL with a technology pack. instead, if you want/need ACC you are in a Lariat or higher.

I am one of those buyers. I don't need the activex seats or the B&O sound (I upgraded it all, anyway). I just want ACC for all the highway miles I rack up. Lobo 402 with ACC surely would cost less than a Lobo 702.

I mean, the Bronco sport has a base price of nearly $34,000 where as the Maverick has a base price of roughly $30,000.

The Bronco sport with standard ACC comes with an anemic 1.5L 3 cylinder ecoboost.

These are not the same.
The base Bronco Sport is $31695 after their price increase plus destination. I didn't realize they went up, they were $30k for their 2025. Maverick AWD ecoboost is $30645 plus destination. I guess the difference is similar if Bronco Sport include ACC.

While I get what you're saying as far as Ford could do it I just think they are different vehicles and packages for different buyers.

You know Ford (and Dodge and GM) have always charged the "truck tax" meaning you're going to pay more for less because it is a truck. It's really the genius in Ford making their entry level vehicle a pick up and then raising the price. can you imagine them trying to sell a Focus with a base price of $30k? Never happen.

To me the major difference between the Bronco Sport and the Maverick is the 2.0EB being the standard engine in the Maverick. You have to climb to the highest trim level to get the 2.0 in the BS and that pushes you into the 40k range.

If you want ACC in the Maverick (and other CP360 features) that pushes you into the 40k range.

Ford has seemingly always made the choice for buyers to be either barebones XL or jump the Lariat. XLT sits in that weird range of you get some appearance upgrades and minimum creature comforts. The XLT was appealing to me only when I was able to pair it with the Tremor package in 2023 and then added Lane keep assist via Forscan.

It would be nice but hey the XLT doesn't even get a rear armrest anymore for 2026. Believe it or not a rear armrest was a big reason I went with an XLT over XL. My kids love rear armrests. Maybe they should re name the current XLT trim to STX like the F-150s have and then make the XLT have adaptive cruise, bring back the rear armrest and offer the pro trailer assist.
Agree!

1. Those XLs look gnarly without the black wrap on the "B" pillar. I know some people like that look, but talk about cost-cutting! :D

2. I couldn't care less about the ACC, but if Ford could start with adding a one-touch "UP" function to the driver's window that'd be real peachy.
I have a 2022 lariat and have 1 touch window for up and down on all 4 windows

I agree about the 2.0 engine which I think should be available on the Bronco Sport (topic for another video, lol). Escape used to have a 1.5 with optional 2.0, now they reserve it for the Platinum as well. So maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges when I thought I was comparing apples to apples.
