I have it in my Lariat and while it works fine, I wish the system would stop telling me to put my hands on the wheel (which is where they are ALWAYS) when the real issue is that a long straight piece of road (damn modern highway engineering) is so common. Having to wiggle the steering wheel just because the truck thinks my hands are off the wheel is irritating.
I had to upgrade to a Lariat to get rear parking sensors. Why couldn't I get them on the fully equipped XLT I started with?
My 2024 Lariat doesn’t do that. I rest one hand on the wheel and it never bothers me.
My intensity is set to normal.

I mean, the Bronco sport has a base price of nearly $34,000 where as the Maverick has a base price of roughly $30,000.

The Bronco sport with standard ACC comes with an anemic 1.5L 3 cylinder ecoboost.

These are not the same.
I had that ā€˜anemic’ 3 cylinder in my 2021 base model. And I test drove the hybrid.

You’re in the Hybrid Maverick right ?
The standard 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine in the Ford Bronco Sport produces 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque,

. The Ford Maverick hybrid's 2.5L four-cylinder system produces a combined 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque.

The ā€˜Combined’ that’s with the electric engines and a full power battery I thought was a good bit higher even if it only lasted minutes.

From the Ford web site:
2024 Ford Maverick Performance Specs – Powertrains

2.0L Turbocharged 4-Cylinder Engine
250 horsepower
277 lb-ft of torque
8-speed automatic transmission.

The 2.5L 4-Cylinder Engine Paired With a Hybrid System,
Combined 191 horsepower
155 lb-ft of torque
CVT (continuously variable automatic transmission)

Split rear seat. Heads up display. Bring back the key code unlock, I use that all of the time. Put the light on off switch in the bed on the top, it is hard to get to it when you have a load in the bed. There is a lot of potential for other cubbies in the bed, like in front of the wheel well. Better aerodynamics, ie Slope the hood.

Do I like adaptive cruise control? Yes.
How much extra would I pay for it as a add on??
Not much by itself.

The upgraded sound proof windshield, the adaptive CC,
Electric rear sliding window,
Heated seats and steering wheel,
Key Fob remote start,
Are the Lariat add on’s that I like.

Don’t know how much of that is available on the XLT. I never looked into it.
My 2024 AWD Ecoboost Lariat was $36,000
A good value to me when I compared it to everything else.

The Colorado, Ranger, Ridgeline, Tacoma.
Compared to those my lariat was a simple decision.
No I’d never consider Hundai or kiya.

This doesn't even warrant a response.

It would be nice but hey the XLT doesn't even get a rear armrest anymore for 2026. Believe it or not a rear armrest was a big reason I went with an XLT over XL. My kids love rear armrests. Maybe they should re name the current XLT trim to STX like the F-150s have and then make the XLT have adaptive cruise, bring back the rear armrest and offer the pro trailer assist.

That 3 cylinder was adequate not anemic to me.
At the ford site the Mavbrid System was similar. The guy that called the 3 banger dragon anemic seemed to be un aware his hybrid had similar power out put.

I couldn’t find a torque number for the electric side of the hybrid. The Ford site confused me.

I’m easily confused.

This has been explained to you so many times, especially the eCVT, you just choose not to accept the information.

However - my point had nothing to do with the 2.5L Hybrid and everything to do with the 2.0 ecoboost and the fact you have to go Badlands to get it in the Bronco sport.

Saying ACC is standard on all bronco sports is true but it also has a base price $3,000+ more than the Maverick and comes with a 1.5L 3 cylinder as opposed to the stout 2.0 EB. I'm sure somewhere in that delta Ford made some decisions to keep the Maverick price low and ACC is one of them.

I drove a hybrid it was plenty powerful especially at take off from a start. But I guess I felt the need to defend the 3 cylinder.
I guess I was pointing out his 2.5 liter ICE and the 3 cylinder had similar output. One was not anemic.

My next Mav will likely be the Hybrid, if gas prices rise significantly in the next five years.

I love my Eco’s feel and performance at $3.00 a gallon but I doubt I’ll love it at $.500 or $6.00 a gallon.

Again - they do not have similar output nor are their torque curves even close to the same but this has already been explained to you numerous times.

And the entire point is you have to spend $42,000 to get a 2.0 EB in the Bronco Sport.

Saying "the Bronco sport gets ACC why doesn't the Maverick" is not an apples to apples comparison regardless if they both are built on the same line they are priced and packaged differently.

I know I remember, but the feel was similar.
It’s likely I drove a Mavbrid with a drive battery that was not charged up.
If I can find the time I’ll go up and drive another Hybrid. Make the sales person drool.
No I’ll ask and tell them I’m not buying first.
I bet they still get all excited :’P

The 0-60 times in the Maverick hybrid vs EB are very similar with the 2.0EB only pulling away by a few Mav lengths at the end.

0-60 times for the lighter weight 1.5L Bronco Sport is 8.6 seconds.

Mav Hybrid does it in 7.4 seconds.

Ford needs to give the Maverick EB the manual shifting automatic transmission buttons or paddles (Selectshift) like every other Ford model with an ICE. Not just the Lobo - but XL/XLT/Lariat/Tremor.

Like every other manufacturer with an ICE. Been around for 20 years with Ford even.

Thank you Ford. And Tim for asking.
I had those paddles on my previous ride. Never used them.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I HATE ACC and am thrilled NOT to have it in my XLT.

i use CC all the time, but I don't want it adjusting for me, I want to be taking it off cruise and back on or charging lanes to pass so I can maintain my speed.
