I’ve read every response

Sorry to hear!
My wife's 2005 Subaru literally gave me back pain/ leg sciatica. Something about the seat angles, I couldn't get comfortable in it, it compressed my spine or something. And I'm a skinny guy!

A seat cushion "helped" but the pain didn't go away until I got treatment and stopped driving it.

I'm a little late to this thread butt...pun intended (not laughing at your pain)... Have you gone to a good local auto uphosltery shop to see if they can redo the seat cushions to fit your needs ??
Maybe a better foam padding with a specific back support ?? YOu would be surprised what those guys can do.

I wouldn’t say that is the motive or reason for the posts. The point before is I was asking others how to make the seat more comfortable, second was an update on what I had thought was going to be a seat that could plug-in and now is the other end of it in terms of after looking at all avenues what I have pretty much come to a decision with. It’s not asking the same question it’s not seeking different answers. What it is is going through and talking with other people that have had different experiences with the seat. Or similar seat similarities with the seat. I’m not criticizing other people but other people feel the need to come on and criticize me

Definitely not criticizing you by any means. While the Lariat seats are bit more comfortable they are no where near what my Ford Edge ST was and probably no where near what the Escape ST-Line Selects are either.

What I was stating is it is very possible to have a custom car shop redo the padding in the seat and keep the same frame and seat cover. I've seen a a few cars, not Fords but Porches, that have had this done. Foam type, seat bolster, etc all have to come together for the perfect "you" fitting.

If there is a custom car show somewhere near you go over and and ask around. You never know. Good luck in your quest :)

I’m well aware of that. And if you read my initial post you’ll see where I’m kind of going with it. If you don’t like the thread why did you engage on it? Seems counterproductive to me, but what the hell do I know

Last word and then I'm gone from this thread. The next time you want to buy a vehicle see if there is one at a rental agency and drive it for a month to see if it fits your needs. Done this four times in 17 new car buying experiences.

I'm outta here.

That sucks to hear of your pain.

I wish some people were a little more understanding instead of jumping to the conclusion that I’m some kind of massively obese individual (happened more times than you know), or being chippy. Some people…

I will say, of all the recent vehicles I have owned in the past several years, my Lincolns (2011 MKX, 2017 MKC, 2021 Corsair) were superb...most roomy was my 2021 and 2022 Bronco Black Diamond's...those seats were as wide open as the mid American plains....my Maverick is pretty dang good and my 2023 Explorer was def a kidney puncher....lol

The seats in our 2023 Mav XLT are pretty comfortable but not quite as our 2009 Nissan Altima. I can drive 4 hours straight in the Altima and not have an issue. Best seats than any other car that I have owned and we are keeping it just for that reason.

So in turn I’m probably going to trade in the Maverick.
If you haven’t yet - start getting bids from Carvana & Kelly Blue Book etc.

Cherry pick the highest bid. Carvana quoted me $20k one week, $24k another week for my Corolla. Of course I brought the $24k quote to my Ford Dealer & used that in my OTD offer. My OTD offer was the Maverick MSRP & tax. The other dealer add ons & dealer prep & etc - around $3-4k were not going to be paid by me lol.

Make an offer right at the edge of the dealer saying no. Make sure they understand a no means see you later.

Do your homework - no excuse for not getting a good deal on your next vehicle!

So a little update I recently had an MRI and got my results back yesterday. As I had mentioned I had hip issues beforehand but I found out what they were. I had hip bursitis but my tendon that goes over top of it which I think is a illegal tibial band or something like that was very tight so I have new exercises to do however that is not the part of the chair that is in contact with the seat. The bottom of the seat or the bottom of my rear end I should say when it makes contact with the seat is what causes the pain. However they did come up with the inclination that my back pain which has now developed arthritis is because of the lack of a lumbar support. So today during my PT session the doctor had told me we can probably do some good work to help improve the hip but I don’t think we’ll be able to fix the back. He stated to me I can’t tell you to sell it or not sell it but I can definitely tell you that the twisting and all that you had to do to get into the car definitely worsened your back. He said not having a lumbar support really hurt it. So he told me that he could not tell anybody what to do in terms of what their car. But for me I’m even more vindicated in this decision. I’m really going to miss it because it’s been three weeks and I would really like to have kept it it’s a car that I’ve wanted for so long but I had to do what I had to do

This is why I'm not a Doctor. I would diagnose that you have bad CV joints.
